Hunger and monthly "friend"

Ok it is getting to be close to that time of the month, I usually eat quite a bit before my "friend" comes. This is the first time that it would be approaching after surgery. I have had feeling of hunger a lot more that usual.  I have been really trying to stick to what they tell me but this is really hard. I am able to have yogurt and cottage cheese per dr. orders but get to have egg whites. So tried that and worked a little, I then tried a little cream of wheat which was ok but I was feeling full at the 2 oz since the 1 package made just a touch more. So I stopped eating like I was told to, but am I hurting my loss by kinda jumping ahead a little? Is there any suggestions to help when this time arrives? Also there are times when eat my 2 oz of cottage cheese and have a hard time to wait the 30 minutes to drink again so lately been chewing on sugarless gum (not swallowing it) to get me through is there any other suggestions on this as well?  Sorry for the long rant just getting stuck.

I really cannot say I know what you are going though because I already was in menopause when I had my WLS. I would not eat anymore than your doctor recommends. Do not undo what the doctor has done. Think of your new pouch as a baby and you would not overfeed a baby. There are reasons why you are one the different phases of the PO diet and it is to let your pouch heal. But really what you might want to do is just do something that involves your hands, like a craft. Or if you are physically able I would go for a walk instead. Find something that needs to be done in the house etc. You can get over this.  Christine

Hi, I am sorry you are going through a tough time , but I don't think the cream of wheat was a good choice, only because that is not on our  list of  foods  to eat right now, did they tell you NO Carbs? they did me, until 6 months out, the carbs make you more hurgery have you tried egg beater with some low fat cheese? it is good, also no sugar add applesauce, get some sf pudding , I don't know to much about the pms, prob, as I have only had it come once since surgery, (Maybe it will never come back LoL) . you can do this I know it is hard but just hang in their, it will get  better soon,

Success begins with wise choices I make,I will not let noncompliance be my mistake, The surgery I had was to assist me in changes. My compliance is for a success long range, So I will think before I decide to cheat. Remember the goals I want to meet. For this surgery is not something I was force to do It was what I wanted for a healthy life!

Ok I hope so. I am lately having a real hard time with the food. I noticed that today it is getting a little better. I did have a issue with the dumping today because I accidentally swallowed my gum that I chew when waiting for the 30 minutes to be able to drink again.  Other than that doing ok, been off the pain meds for a while and been sleeping in bed. The only little snag that I had was the issue with the dumping today from the gum. I will make sure that I never do that again, it scared my husband becuase we were at Jewel and doing some shopping when started getting really hot and by the time we got home it was here. Now about a hour later feeling much better. Dr. just called me back and she said that is what she told me I had. So back to basics. Thanks for all your help and support.
