I got a catalog in the mail today that has some really cute clothes and reasonable prices, would it be dumb of me to buy some in smaller sizes for the summer already?  LOL    They have a special where I can buy now and not pay til May...I would love to do it, but hate not knowing what sizes to buy ya know?

just want opinions!  lol

Hi Monica.....Wow that's a tough question.  I am going to be in a wedding in June and when we went last month to try on dresses I decided to wait until March.....I think you should do what you think is right, but if it were me I'd wait.....I've been very happy with my weight loss and have been shedding off more inches than I thought I would at this stage of the game.   Some people even skip sizes, so it becomes very unpredicatable.  You might order something for the summer and you might find out it's way too big!   Are you able to return it?   I don't know if I'm any help but I'm sure you will get some other opinions and then you can make up your mind. I sure wouldn't buy anything now. I got banded in October, and I am not even thinking of buying anything until late March. Since I know most of my spring clothes I will swim in. But thats just my opinion, you do what you think is right for you.

I know how excited you are and man oh man there is nothing more exciting then to get some new spring and summer clothing but I personally would wait.  You will be so surprised at the size you will be in come summer.  I hardly buy anything anymore because it's such a waist of money.  I usually hit the goodwill or check out the clearance racks at Target.  My surgeons office also has a clothes exchange and I've been able to get several things from them.  Another thing that I have discovered on pants is I get jeans and capris that have draw strings so I can wear them longer.  If you just have the button/zip your out of them w/in a few weeks.   Usually if you post on the main board your in need of a particular size, someone is always willing to help you out.  I have been given some really nice clothing both from the main board and the IL board.  Matter of fact for the past two years I have been blessed w/ two different people sending me winter coats that they no longer could use. Thanks everyone, I have decided to wait on the smaller sizes and buy some stuff I can use now!  LOL   They have such cute stuff and like I said it's pretty reasonably priced too.  It's a company called the Woman Within.

I actually have some shorts and tops that are a size 14/16 that I bought on clearance a long time ago for a vacation and never got to that size.  I have held on to them and who knows maybe this year I will be able to fit in them by the summer, if not oh well.  If I am smaller than that, I will happily give them away!  lol

Hope everyone is having a wonderful weekend

Monica, I went shopping for my fall wardrobe last August.  I found 4 pairs of pants on the clearance rack for 9.99 each.  They didn't fit me then, but I bought them for the future.  I am so glad that I did because thats all that fits me right now. My opinion is, if you find a really good deal and the season is coming then buy a couple of things a size or two smaller.  I know that I won't be in that size for long, but for the price I'm happy if I only wear them twice.  In other words, is the price so good that you could chance giving them away without ever wearing them. I so totally want to shop for next winter.  The sales are so good.  I want some Christmas sweaters and a new coat.  I can't begin to guess what my size will be then, so I'm not buying that far in advance.   I hope this different perspective helps some. ~Michelle

ya know, I might buy one or two things, but it's so hard to say right now since I haven't even been approved yet.  The prices are good, anywhere between 9.99 and 19.99 for certain things.

We shall see, right now I just ordered a couple of tops that I can use now and if they are too big in a couple of months I can always lounge in them right after surgery to be comfy too.

It's tempting but I'd say hold off.  You've no idea where you will by then and you don't want to buy things that will be too big. A great thing to do is thrift stores and I had great luck on ebay getting nice things cheap. I also sold a load of things there and then had the $$$ for new clothes So tempting as it may be, throw the cataloge away.
Regards and hugs,

Ronna
