I need help
Hi! I lived near you for years (C'dale). I would think you could eat 1 to 1.5 c. of food at each meal focusing on protein first. My NUT says we should eat some of the colors of the rainbow each day like red-tomatoes, yellow-squash, purple-beets, ect. in addition to the protein. I usually eat a scrambled egg for breakfast with an instant oatmeal packet. Lunch is often 4 oz cottage cheese or yogurt, may be a half banana or half an apple and 2 oz FF refried beans. Dinner is something like a chicken thigh or salmon or tuna and vegetables. I make FF instant pudding for dessert with micellar milk for the protein. Some of these things you might have to order on the internet. I also have some high protein cinnamon pretzels from kaysnaturals.com which I might add to lunch or dinner depending on the day. I do drink 10 glasses of water and only use a protein drink if I am short on protein. I eat 80 grams of protein a day.
I hope this gives you some ideas. I would suggest you look for a doc in St. Louis. It is so much closer!

Connie, I really like your NUT's idea of eating from the rainbow. That is a fantastic idea. I am going to mention that to mine at Dr Rosen's office. Actually I need to interject here because I do not think that Sandra should be eating 1 & 1/2c of food because she is a RNY patient. Most doctors will say to keep the food intake at 1/2 c for either a snack or a meal. She might be really hard pressed to get more than that in. Our pouches are only the size of a large egg. My DH and I can hardly get in one scambled egg and we both are 4+ years out. Chris

Sure. It is a quote from William Danforth, the founder of Ralston-Purina and the American Youth Foundation. It was the camp slogan of the AYF camp Miniwanca where I went as a teenager. The slogan has helped me immensely over the years.
