Thursday Roll Call

Good morning everyone.  Today is interesting and I got to spend last night with my daughter.  I miss her so much when I can't see her.  As for today, I think I am at peace with a hard decision.  I just have to make sure I do my job well, and not let outside issues take over me. My new route to work is making my legs sore.  I have been walking over 2 miles a day (at least one quarter of a mile to get to the train station from where I park).  I have a roughly 1 mile walk from the station downtown to the office.  I noticed that I need a new belt again.  I JUST bought it in November with one notch available for what I expected to be a holiday weight gain, instead it is January and I can't wear it anymore.  Who would have ever thought that losing weight would be so expensive?!

Good morning Illinois! It's snowing in Rockford right now so I should be driving to work instead of on this board. It's so pretty though and the window is right by my computer. I'm thinking about running over to Unique Yarns and knitting a pair of socks. They are having a sock workshop this weekend. The only socks I've made are Christmas stockings and they are knit on big needles (easy). I'll just have to see what the weather does.

Other than that it is just a regular work day which I do enjoy.

I am up and moving already making stew for dinner so DH and children love me LOL.... I don't know what of it I will be able to eat but I will try it..My sister in Law is coming out tomorrow and she want chinese food what will I eat, I can't have that ugh .....Anyways I am doing laundry, going to work out later and that is about it.... Barry I hope all goes well with your decision, and Dawn I am excited for your daughter that is wonderful... Christine I hope you get out before the snow hits and get home safe and sound....I hope everyone has a great day.....

Martha, are you still on a restricted diet and cannot have Chinese? You can probably find something on the menu that is not in a real heavy sauce, fried etc. Most restaurants have some dishes with a light broth type of sauce with veggies and good meat. Chris

Christine,  Do you have any ideas, because before I had surgery it was all fried. No I am not on a restricted diet anymore, which is nice, But I am just not sure what to eat in Chinese.... Thanks Christine..

Martha, no I do not know which dish to choose as I do not really know the titles of the dishes. The dishes also vary in name from restaurant to restaurant. What I do is read the menu and then if I am not sure about something I ask the wait staff how it is prepared. EX: heavy sauce, white sauce or dark sauce, breaded spicy . . .  Now, they do not deep fry everything, just some have a coating on the meat and egg rolls. You might be thinking that when they say "stir fry" that they deep fry it. They do put a little bit of an oil in the pan to sautee the meat and veggies but not a whole lot. I WILL TELL YOU RIGHT NOW WATCH THE RICE. Stay away from it or have just a small teaspoon full. It swells in the pouch and . . .  some it does not bother and others it hurts and gets stuck.  Good luck and you will do fine. Chris

Hi Christine and IL Board! I guess I have to say good afternoon. I was away from the office all day so I couldn't log on. All is well. Plan on attending the Kane support group on Saturday morning. Well, just checking back in on the board. Dave got the bad news  at about 130 today that his last day with Tyco is Feb 29. He is sort of relieved that the hammer finally came down. He does have some irons in the fire and some ideas. We are going out with a friend that still is employed with Tyco on Sat. night. Those two will be able to do some networking and give Dave some ideas and insight into the whole mess. I am relieved that this is happening because Tyco is a horrible company to work for and Dave had word that he was getting back a boss that is a complete A__hole. This guy is just a climber and will step on anyone in his way and will put others down verbally etc at the drop of a hat. Chris

Hi Chris, Sorry to hear about Dave's job.  Even though he would have had a jerk for a boss, it is still an unpleasant task.  The good thing is he has quite a bit of notice.  That gives him time to network and look around for something better. You know the saying "when one door closes, another opens" is very true. Best of luck to Dave. Mary
