Hey Everyone I was going to my bar bell strength class this morning and then my boxing class tonight, but my arms, shoulders and back are kinda sore so I am resting this am and going to my boxing class tonight. By the way...didn't you notice the big red bold font?  I decided on RED gloves.  I was going to get pink as I am a girly girl, but there was something about the RED ones that fit the boxing me I want to talk today about having fun.  If you have been doing this for awhile, are you in a rut?  Do you find you just go through the motions and the passion and fire for what you are doing is gone?  If you are pre-op and or newbie, do you find you do it just because you know you have to and you know deep down this ain't going to last The key is to keep trying new things until you find that one or two things that really push your buttons.  I can't explain it but when I was working out with my trainer to get my body fat down as low as possible for PS. I just LOVED the way I felt while lifting weights.  I just loved feeling strong.  Maybe it had something to do with me being a fat person I just felt my whole life like a loser and a weak person for not being able to control my eating.  I was trying any and all classes at they gym and when I took my first kick box jam class I loved the way I felt when I was throwing punches and kicks.  Again, if I had not tried that class I would have never found out I loved boxing. So if you are pre-op and or a newbie, walking and or swimming is  your best bet until the weight starts coming off.  Then get adventurous and try different things.  I am almost 4 years out and just now getting into boxing. If you are a vet like me, and getting bored, get DVD's, take classes, try different things and find that fire and passion in your workout again.  This is for the rest of your life and we have to live it with the passion that we missed in our lives before So My Friends, Did You Move To Lose and or Maintain Today?  Come on and posts, I double dog dare ya!!! Stay Sexy, Sassy and Strong Take care, Kathy

Well, I have started a new excersize routine, it is called running to work (ok fast walking).  I have had to move, which means I have to take a different train that I used to.  I now have a 1+ mile walk every day to and from work.  I might need to hold shirts at work so I don't sweat too much (I am an easy sweater)

Hi Barry, Welcome to our thread and Welcome to the rest of your life....the BEST is yet to come.  If you don't have one yet, get one of those counters.  Try and challenge yourself to work up to 10,000 steps a day.  I love a challenge and when I was first starting out I couldn't make it around the block  But I found I would park further away from the store and then get brave and do stairs, anything to hit my step goal. I too used to sweat just walking from my car to my desk.  That is a great idea about a change of clothes.  Good news is this will get better as you lose weight I promise. I hope you will hang with us and let us watch and cheer you on as you shrink down.  After the weight starts to melt off  you will want to get into more cardio and weight lifting for sure I hope to see you  tomorrow Take care, Kathy

Hey there Kathy! Nice to see you today! Yes, I did strength training today.  Every other day, I am trying new exercises to keep it from becoming boring and to see how different things make me feel.   I have done the "Namaste Yoga" on the Fitness Channel a couple of times, and I have to say.....I really like it.  It does not feel like I am working out at all......................until the next day!  WOW, last time, I could feel it in places I didn't even know I had. I need to figure out how to tape prgrams on our newer VCR, as I would like to tape a bunch of these shows and another show, "Shimmy" which is belly dancing, but it is on at like 8:00 pm, when I am getting ready for bed, but I would LOVE to try it. Great thoughts on keeping it from becoming boring..... Thank you for the motivation to keep going! See you tomorrow!

Tell someone that you love them!
