My discusting Day
Well today was a day of firsts for me. I decided to have ham for breakfast. No, I didn't get out the blender and puree it. I thought I would just chew it really really well. It got stuck. No big deal I have had a couple of things stuck before. Then it became really stuck and began to hurt. The nasty frothies came from I don't know where and wouldn't stop..YUCK! Luckily, Wendi told me about meat tenderizer and ho****er. It takes some time, but worked great. Thanks Wendi.
For lunch I thought about something smooth and soothing. Yogurt. I purchased some non fat over the weekend and it should be a decent source of protein. I didn't measure I just ate. I'm online catching up on everyones Christmas from our family website when I start to feel funny. I'm really tired. I mean all of a sudden I'm exhausted. I glance at the yogurt and read the label. 38 grams of sugar per serving. Oh no, what did I do? Goes to show that I have to pay much more attention to labels. I was reading labels and had one in the cart and then saw they had it in vanillia and changed it without looking at the new label. So began my first dump.
I went to lay down. Thank goodness that I am still off from work and I was at home. My pulse starting racing a mile a minute. I couldn't even lift my arm up, I was so exhausted. I just layed there and closed my eyes. Sleep came fast. I was lucky that it didn't affect my digestive tract. I didn't have any stomach pains associated with it. I guess it was mild compared to other stories I've heard.
I guess that all of us RNY'ers are curious if we will dump. I guess I found out early that I do. I also learned a valuable lessons on label reading.

Oh Michelle, chalk it up to lessons learned....I to have admitt that I got the foamies, because I took a nibble of a biscuit....let just say it was not pretty and I will stay away from bread for a long long time. On the other hand, I am glad I could help. It truly pays to read posts, as you never know what little tid bit of information you will pick up.

Even as a lapbander, if I eat to much or not the right stuff, I start PB (Productive Burping). Tonight it was a banana. Since this is the 2nd time it has happened on Banana's, they are now off my food list of what will work with my tummy.
I am glad you are feeling better.
Hugs
I think a really important lesson that you learned also is to measure your food and concentrate on what you are eating and for how long. The lifestyle changes will come to you eventually but in the meantime really watch what you are eating while you are eating. I would say at this point where you are PO you really should not be reading and eating. You need to pay attention to how much you are getting in and when you are feeling full. What you experienced is that one bite too much and it put you over the edge.
Take care my dear and you will get it. Dave and I are 4+ years out and we are still learning. It will not come to you overnight.

liquid tylenol, who would have thought.
Yes, I am struggling a lot with the lifestyle change. I told my dh that I am tired of this diet and ready to quit. Thank goodness that I can't. That is one thing that I love about my rny is that it won't let me give up.
I do miss food. I'm not hungry at all and have no room to put anything, but oh how I just miss eating.
Time to use the tools that I have learned so far. Time for some more baby steps. My plan for the week.... I think I will make a menu plan for the rest of the week. Meals will be eaten at the kitchen table. What are some of the ways that everyone else has dealt with their lifestyle change? ~Michelle
