Did You Move To Lose Today? NO EXCUSES!
Happy New Year Everyone
Well the holidays are over and we are facing a brand new year. I for one am looking forward to it.
Last year was full of loss and emotional challenges for me. It also showed me that I was not as strong as I thought and ran my eating off the road.
One of the things that was such a WOW moment for me was for the first time in my life after WLS, was not having my New Years Resolution to be I WILL LOSE WEIGHT. But this year is the first time I need to say, I will get back in shape and not feel guilty
So my friends, let's help each other with working out and getting our butts moving. I don't care if you are pre-op, newbie, post-op or vet. Exercise is a MUST!!!!!!!
Instead of posting what you did to exercise today, let's post our exercise goal here today. Come in an share and let's get inspired
My exercise goals for 2008!
Try running more
Try a cycle class
Buy my own kickboxing bag and or sign up for a kickboxing program
Try working out in the water more
Reduce my body fat
Train to run another 5k
Eating goals for 2008!
Get back to pouch rules/more protein, water, less white carbs and more complex carbs
Come on we can do it
Take care,
Kathy

Hi Kathy!
Yes, I did my usual work out this morning.
My goal for 2008 is not to lose hope.
I really need to find the balance that will work for me.
I feel like I am doing everything as I've been told, and I KNOW (in my brain) that I should be happy with how far I have come (and I am).....BUT.....I am still "obese" and long to be closer to "normal".
SOOOOOO....I will keep it up, and tweak things a bit here and there and hope that the right balance is eventually struck.
My first plan is to add more fresh veggies and fruit into my daily eating plan.
Thank you so much for the motivation.......
Hey Kath ... a very happy New Year to you and all! I at least got a good start on the New Year ... I walked in the Chicago NYD 2008 5K yesterday! (met up with Paula there!)
It was pretty as a postcard walking along the Chicago lakefront, the scenery was a blanket of newly fallen snow (yep -- still WHITE!!) ... sure was beautiful as it draped the trees! Sure, it was a little cold to start, and I had a low blood sugar episode prior to the walk, but I still made it through (despite the ice trying to kick my butt -- am now nursing a pulled muscle)!
I hear ya about last year ... and for me, some of it has spilled into this year, as my job is seriously on the line. SO ... with all life's wit and wonder ... here we go again. All I can hope is that the lessons we've learned so far through life will help us at least cope better with upcoming challenges.
I plan to have my goals evolve throughout the year ... but my first one is: I've signed up for YOGA! Private lessons every other week, and group class on the "other" weeks. We'll keep going from there -- didn't want to overwhelm myself.
Love ya ... let's talk soon!

Hi Karyn,
It's so good to hear from you and see your smiling face! I can't believe you walked in the snow. You are much braver than I am
You and Paula are my role models....
I can't believe all that stuff is happening again with your job. Call me so we can get caught up ok?
Do you have the new dates for the support group meetings at NW? I want to try and attend, if the roads are not bad.
Let's get caught up and I am so proud of you for making exercise part of your New Year.
Take care,
Kathy

I am going to move today, In a few minutes I will be going to the health club with my DH and older son, I have been going for the last 2 weeks about 2 times a week, I am so hoping I can get through this stall I am at currently it has been 3 weeks and not one pound dropped so maybe more excersize will help.....
Hi Martha,
Try not to freak out to much on the stall. I had a 9 week one before the "scales" started moving again. Be sure and take your measurements as well as a body fat comp at the gym. Those are great measurements of success....better than the scale.
Keep it going!!!!
Take care,
Kathy
