Plans for New Years Eve
I crave Chinese all the time but did not think it was a "safe" choice. I have not had it since before my surgery back in August of 06! Any suggestions on healthy choices? What's everyone order? I thought Chinese was loaded with sugar so I would be thrilled to hear some suggestions.
Thanks!

HI Paula!
Just catching up on all I missed over the weekend.
We live in the middle of nowhere in a small town of 300. Every New Year's since we've lived there, the get together has been at our house. This year, we are doing fondue again. I found a recipe for sugar free chocolate fondue to dip fruit and stuff into, one of the neighbors is doing the cheese fondue, and I will also be making a meat fondue. The meat is usually done in hot oil, but I have been reading that you can use broth too, so I am going to try the broth first. If it does not work, I will heat oil for my guests as I will be full after trying the meat in the broth.
Everyone brings a dish to pass also. The kids play the new games from Christmas and maybe a bit of Karaoke. The adults will have some ****tails and maybe play a game or some cards.
It is usually a pretty good time and most everyone lives close enough to walk home. This year, there will be no ****tails for Todd as he is still on antibiotics and Amber and Riley are talking of coming out and staying over.
Tomorrow, we will clean up the mess.
Have a wonderful and SAFE New Year's!

My family and I are heading to a friend's house to celebrate there. Let the kids who all enjoy each other wear themselves out and then the adults can have more adult beverages as the night progresses. Just to be on the safe side, I think we will be spending the night there. I know the wife and I want to partake in some adult beverages and I don't think it would be good to be on the road.
I hope you all have a happy and safe NYE!
Barry
