Wishing you all a safe and Happy New Year!

Well, we always like to just stay home in recent years because of all the the amaratur (sp?) drinkers on the road, it is really scary sometimes. But we have both had a taste for Chinese food for the last couple of weeks so we are going to Yu's in Schaumburg. We used to like to have Chinese food on New Years day as a treat but all the good restaurants in our area are kaput. The take out one we like is usually closed on New Years day so we have opted to go out tomorrow early, about 5ish and get home before all the Bozo's start driving.

Hi Paula... We are going to our Pastor's House around 6 PM New Year's Eve... for games and food and fun, we probably won't stay too late we have 3 children and I think midnight is pushing it... On New Year's Day we are going to a friend of mine since elementary school who I have just found again! I am excited! I hope everyone has a safe new year's eve!!! Blessings Jenn

Yay for you, for not having to work!!
Tomorrow during the day we will be at Mike's grandma's funeral in West Bend, WI. We are aiming to be home around 6-7pm. Then Jacob and I are heading out to our breeder's house with the dogs to help her bathe 9, 5 week old pups!! and of course play with them. We will be home before midnight because even though she only lives about 20 min from us, I don't trust many drivers out there no NYE
wishing all my new friends a wonderful and safe New Year

We are planning to get some Chinese take-out also and just hunker down at home. My youngest is having a little get-together and invited us, but there is no way Eddie can maneuver her stairs yet. Our favorite place is closed on Mondays, so we are going to one a little further, but I know has good food. Eddie's son may come over for dinner New Year's day-he still hasn't confirmed-just like his old man! Hope all is well with everyone- and a safe and healthy and happy 2008 for us all! Hugs-Janet K

Janet, hey where are the places you like to go for Chinese? Are they closer by you and are they just take out or are they a sit down place also? We used to have a really good one in our town and it changed owners about 10 years ago and it is now horrible. Our take out one is over near Addison but that is the one that is closed tomorrow, dang. I wish that we lived closer to Chinatown for good Chinese.

The REALLY good one is Cafe Jasmine,in Wheaton in East Danada. The BEST-but closed on Mondays. We are going to the Golden Wok on Roosevelt Rd. in Glen Ellyn , that is very good too. Both are sit down and take out. If you have a home fax-pm the # number to me and I'll send the menus. Have a great New Year darlin-you're a special lady! Big Hugs-Janet K

We went for Chinese to a really good place, despite the name - Jockey Wok & Roll. They are located in a strip mall off of Higgins at Roselle Rd (behind Burger King).
They are really good and are KNOWN for their Dim Sum. They actually take it around on carts (like in Chinatown) on Saturdays and Sundays from 11:30-1:30 (If I remember correctly). But you can order off a DimSum menu anytime.
They also have a full 'regular' menu, too.
Vicky, I and my 5 y.o. daughter ate for $25 on Saturday (dim sum menu).
