Good Morning Pam and the rest of Illinois! Glad to see that you got a good report from your doc.  Do you use protein supplements like shakes and bars?  I do 2-3 shakes a day, and I LOVE them!  There is a store here in town near Alpine & State that carries a lot of good things. Chris and Dave-----please travel safely and enjoy your time away. Miss Lucy-----I am glad to see that you are starting over with a new lease on life.  I hope you can get in to your primary doc today. Although I am at work today, it should be a bit of a blow off day.  Unless someone somewhere has a big emergency, I may just slip into the break room and wrap a few presents......(shhhhhhh...) Tonight, the kids and I will try to get the shell ornaments finished and taken care of and I hope to get the baking done tomorrow. I wish everyone a wonderful day, just don't look outside........

It is called the MYO Store and it is at 302 N. Alpine Rd. in that little strip mall that used to have "The Bedroom" in it.  Above where the "3 R's" is just north of the Rock River Block, on the corner of Alpine and Morsay. It is run by a couple of body builders that are very nice.  I am very partial to the Champion Pure Whey Stack in Chocolate, Coco-Mochacino and Tropical Sunrise.  The Tropical Sunrise I have every morning mixed with orange Crystal Light to take my vitamins with.  The tropical sunrise by itself tastes kind of like an creamsicle---some orange, some vanilla cream. My very favorites are IDS Multi-Pro Whey Isolate in Belgian Chocolate and Cappucinno. Since everyone has different tastes, you may not like the same ones that I do.  Just tell them that you are a bariatric patient and need low carb whey isolate and they can direct you to your choices. They have a TON of bars there too.  Either ask them which are low carb or be sure to read the labels carefully-----many bars have too many sugars for us.  The really good ones are the "Oh Yeah" bars and the "Power Crunch" wafers. This place has the BEST prices on this stuff.  Even cheaper than mail order.  The Logli's on State St. has many of these things, but they are really expensive. Happy shopping!

Is it expensive?    You had trouble with your iron not so long ago didn't you?   This has to be helping......Do you know what time they open?   LOL sorry so many questions!   I'm going to go there.

Hi Pam! Sorry to be so late in answering, but I still can not log into OH from home. The MYO store is the cheapest I've found for protein supplements.  The 5 lb tub of IDS was $35.99, and the 2 lb. jar of Champion was $ 20 something......(can't remember now....)  These prices are a bit less as the last mail order I did with Vitalady, and I saved the shipping charges. Their hours are M-W  10-7; Th & F 10-6; Sat 10-5; closed Sunday. Yes, I still have trouble with iron.  My hematologist says that I always will.  He says that we (bypass patients) just don't absorb iron from food or supplements, at least not enough to keep our levels up.  I had an iron infusion in August and just had blood taken to see how it is holding, then will be needing infusions a couple of times a year from now on.  It was really not so bad.....half a day of forced relaxation. Have a great day!

Good morning IL, How is everyone doing???  You have all been on my mind.  I have just a bit of shopping to do yet and then I'll be done.  Yesterday I made 9 dozen cookies and a cake.  Maddie and I boxed up the coolies and she took them to school today to give all the teachers.  I have to do some cleaning around the house today and then go to Maddies school for her christmas party.  I am the room mom, so I go and help out and take pictures.  I should be fun!  I have to take all the kids though...oh well.  Then tonight, we are going over to the house of the kids I babysitt for a christmas get together.  I'll give the kids thier prsents and then every year I make something for the parents from the kids.  Last year I made a picture CD w/ all thier pictures from the first day I got them and activities we do.  I them put it to music.  I used "thank God for kids" by the Oak Ridge Brothers and "friend are friends forever" song.  This year the parents got married ( yes, one of those funky police affairs) so I made a picture CD of thier wedding.  They said it was going to cost them $600.00 to have it made for them and they past it up.. This weekend, Maddie and I are just going to veg and think about the true meening of Christmas!!!  I hope everyone has a safe and productive day!

Good Morning Everyone!  Well, I had my pre-op testing this morning.  It was set for 7am, but I was 45 minutes early, so I was in and out of there with in about an 1.5 hours.  It looks like everything is a go for next Friday.  I have to be at the hospital at 11am with surgery at 1pm.  One week to the big day
