Thursday Roll Call
Revision on 04/19/13
Good Morning Illinois.
It looks like another cloudy day today. Its a heck of a lot better them the ice and rain from the other day.
I am leaving for work in a few minutes, I am working in the office close by this morning. (Less then 5 minutes away) Then this evening, DH and I will take a drive down to Bloomington to see the Granddaughter's winter program.
What is everyone up to today?
Hugs
Lisa

I'm doing the usual weekday school-class-playdate shuffle for my two guys. My 20-month old took a header down the last two stairs in our house yesterday so he's sporting a puffy, reddish cheek and nose this morning. He seems his normal, happy self, so I'm relieved.
Just hanging in here, waiting to finish jumping through my insurance hoops so that maybe I can get my DS in late January/early February. It's amazing how often my thoughts wander to the surgery, recovery and post-surgery life throughout the day. I long for the day that my healthier, smaller body is what I'm used to. Ah, well...
Have a good day everyone!

Good Morning Everyone! Well DH is still looking for work... I am going to a local T.O.P.S group this morning I joined about a month ago for a little extra support. My mom goes as well she has done wonderful she has lost 80 pounds and has kept it off for 6 years now! Yay Mom! So I go with her now... I had a few baking nightmares the last few days... I was trying a few recipes 1 SF PB protein cookies AWFUL I followed the directions and way too sweet... Then last night I tried Banana nut protein muffins they tasted worse than the cookies! I have no idea what I am doing wrong send me in the kitchen to make some unhealthy dessert and I can do it! I am going to try again later something else... I did make a Mexican Lasagna last night and it was a hit! WLS friendly! I hope everyone has a blessed, safe day... Keeping you all in my thoughts and prayers! Jenn

Good Morning Lisa and the rest of Illinois!
After work today, I will be stopping by the meat processors to pick up my hog. Between the 1/2 of beef and this hog, my family and Amber's should be set for most of the year. It is the ONLY way to eat!
I have most of my shopping done, now I just have to wrap stuff, which always seems to get left until the last minute. I am going to try to stay ahead of it this year.....
My furnace is supposed to be finished today, there was some sort of misunderstanding about yesterday. Oh well.
That's about it for me today, how is everyone else?
Well, I am at work as usual but my mind is elsewhere. Dave and I will be taking the train to the Loop right after I get off of work today and we are going down to Daley Plaza to the ChristkindleMarket. It is a neat German Christmas Village setting typical of the Christmas markets in Germany. This one is small compaired to the ones I have experienced over in Duetchland. But it is fun to see the imported products and get the hot spiced wine and a sausage sandwich.

Good Morning IL -
I'm very disapointed w/ my Dr. Appointment yesterday. Although my surgeon says everything looks "good". He is not releasing me to go back to wor****il Christmas Eve. Now, I really can not afford to be off another week plus come on... Christmas Eve?? Now that stinks!
Oh well. I really don't have a choice in the matter. Hope everyone has a great day!

Hi everyone,
I usually lurk more than post. Just want to say hello to all.
About me, in brief: Had my DS 3 yrs. ago, and living happily after! I'm a dinosaur nurse (of 30 yrs!) who works at the University of Chicago Hospital. I work on 5SE, which is a Cardiology and Stepdown floor. We also take care of the Bariatric surgical patients on Stepdown - we receive them right out of Recovery Room.
I may have taken care of some of you (ha, ha!). If so, I hope I (we) did a good job!
Hope we see some sun soon.
Best,
Pat

Hi, Patricia! I am happy to see another DSer. Well, I am a wannabe DSer, but you know what I mean!
I'm sure you have so much insight into the post-surgical experience for WLSers. Are there any post-DS hospital tips you can share here or PM me? You know, the stuff you wish every DS patient and their families knew to make their life easier in the hospital and when they get home? Any info would be helpful to us lurkers and wannabes!
Thanks and happy holidays!
