Yah ! My surgery w/ Dr Rosen is scheduled
for the end of January ! I met with him the first time yesterday and went thru 4 different people, the nutrionist, excercise dude, etc...Today I started ( tried, lol) my pre-diet. I have 4 weeks of this and then 2 weeks on the liquid diet . Has anyone else used Dr. Rosen ( Lifeweigh Bariatrics, Downers Grove). ? Is this what is typically ordered ? I am a self pay so I don't have to do 6 months or any kind of diet, but he wants me to start changing my eating habits NOW, so it's not hard later. I felt like I starved all day. I ate my 6 small meals and found myself scrounging for food in between. I might have ate a bit more than I should, but I did make it through a day without SALT & DIET COKE ! OMG ! Will I ever not crave that and almost go crazy without it ? It's like being addicted to cigarettes. Ugghhhh.
Any advice for me in this 6 week wait ?

Susan, you will find several people on the board that are Dr R's patients, myself included. You really need to touch base with Briana or Sheryl to see what you should be doing with your diet and how to handle the amounts you should be having right now and your hunger. As far as your pre op tests you need to be in touch with Barb for what medical work ups you will need. By the way the "exercise dude's" name is Joey.
Just keep in mind that when you are PO the doctor has only changed you physically but you have to change your brain. You will have cravings for the rest of your life but you will be able to handle it. Everyone has different cravings and how they handle it. Just keep in mind that it will take a minimum of 3 weeks (21 days) to change a habit and that goes for food also.
You will be able to do it. You have a doctor's office that has a holistic approach to your health care. Take advantage of that.
