No, I managed to vacuum the FR without causing damage to the tree. I discovered where the exhaust is on that evil thing. That puppy is so powerful it is amazing. My unit is the DC17  absolute animal model. I got it at Abt in Glenview, ordered on line. They have free shipping for anything under 50#, at least they did when I bought it back in March/April. There are several purple ones, mine is the dark purple unit and it was fully loaded with accessories. I have never encountered a vacuum attachment that has such powerful suction as this one does. I just went on Dyson's web site and they are offering free shipping also. I have two sets of carpeted steps and the hose attachment reaches all the way up without me having to go back down and bring it up to finish the top steps, love it.  Chris

Thanks for the info Chris.......I'm planning on getting one in a few months.    Just wanted to see if it was worth the money....which I kind of thought it was!   And yes I'm going to get the animal one also....I know there's 2 of them to pick from     but I like the purple....seems like it's bigger in power!
