Well IL it looks like I get this honor today.  All I can say is that the weather is miserable.  So what is on everyones agenda for today? Mine is the normal housework and homework.  I did a little online christmas shopping this morning and ordered a gift for DH.  I also have tracked down two of my three best friends from high school.  It just so happens that one of them had lapband surgery this past year, and has lost almost a hundred pounds.  So needless to say we had a lot to talk about.  I also found out that my old high school sweetheart had gastric bypass last year and is now a complete hottie once again.  Another one of my friends now lives in southern Indiana, and she married her high school sweetheart.  It is turly amazing that we are only 5-6 hours from each other.   If you are going out and about please be careful of the ice and snow.

I went shopping alone and later I will go to Border's to get the Josh Groban Christmas CD. I went to Catherine's to look at clothes and was wondering how long I'll have to shop there--it's a while, but there's a light at the end of the tunnel now.

Well, we have been up and at 'em for about 9+ hours. The house is just about back to normal. I have not cleaned the bathrooms, vacuumed the carpets or vacuumed the basement floor yet. The cleaning of those rooms will happen in due time. But all of the serving utentils and serving pieces are all washed and stored away for next year as are the kitchen floor, hall and entry way are washed. We had about 65 people here at the house (we have had in many years past 190 people in our house) and the last person left at about 11pm. Of course it was my boisterous family that stayed to the very end. We had 2 neighborhood boys help with the clean up during and after and that enabled us to sit and talk with our guests. This was the first year that we did not allow smoking in the house, those that smoked had to go out to the cold garage. They I am sure will get over it! Most of the smokers are from my family. Well, we are tired but not doing too bad. I just mentioned to Dave that I will at least go into work tomorrow without being totally exhausted. Hope everyone stays safe today considering the weather that we are having in the Chgo area. Enjoy your time with your family. Christine

Today is a very bittersweet day for us here.  First we (Jacob and I) took Henry the little dog up to WI to his forever mama.  She was so excited.  We actually made great time going up there and the weather wasn't bad at all.  Roads were just fine.  The ride home took a little bit longer because we did hit some rainy stuff along 294, but it wasn't bad.   However...we got a call from Mike's mom this morning who was on her way to West Bend WI to say goodbye to her mom.  Seems that Mike's granda took a turn for the worse early this morning and they couldn't seem to stop the bleeding from her ulcer.  They were transfusing her until my mother in law could get there to say goodbye.  Today was supposed to be Grandma's birthdy party, she would have been 88 on the 16th.  We haven't heard from Mike's mom yet, but they didn't expect grandma to live long once they stopped the transfusions.  Please keep the family in your thoughts and prayers as it appears we will be attending a funeral this week.

Monica
