Wednesday Roll Call

Well, we are getting slammed in the Chgo area with snow. I got up about 15 minutes ago and it is still coming down. I think the weather guys missed a little on this one because they were saying that it was supposed to be lighter by morning but now they are saying that it will not tapper off until this afternoon. We have about 6 inches at our house. What is on your agenda for today? Whatever it is please be safe in doing it. I am on my way to the shower here in a few minutes and then when I am dressed for work I will then decide if I am going to walk or drive to work. I am leaning on walking and then maybe walk home at lunch to get my car because I have some errands to do right after work. I will check back later on this evening as to how everyone is doing. Hi Everyone!!!!  Well, it looks like one of those Christmas card scenes outside.  Here in Waukegan, there is approximately 6-8 inches.  I have decided to be smart and I am staying home today and let those who are idiot drivers have the road,  even with a shovel there is no way for me to get my car out until they plow the backside of the apartment complex where I live.  Since I could not get my car out, there was no way for my son to get to the bus stop safely so he is staying home as well.  My DH has worked all night plowing driveways in Lake Forest and Lake Bluff, my daughter left at 6 this morning to go to work with DH and what is normally a 15 minute drive took almost an hour.  DH was on his way out again to do a clean up, and he also has a valet job this morning down at Layola (sp?).  But, hopefully he will come home and get some sleep soon.  They are already looking at the forecast for the weekend, and he thinks they will be plowing Friday thru Sunday. So, I am going to go and curl up on the couch and go back to sleep for a while, then I will call the surgeons office later this morning to find out if they have received the results from Dr. Hart's office giving me clearence, as I do not have sleep apnea.  Then I will do some house work and get a jump start on my final paper for class that is due this coming Monday (I am usually doing these on the night they are due - can you say procrastinator). Stay warm and dry.

Good Morning Chris and IL, I am at work, it took a few minutes longer than usual.  Say what you want about Chicago, but those plows work round the clock to clean the streets :-)  I had no problems with the Kennedy either.  Got to work and the parking lot was clean and clear.  The snow is lovely and now it would be nice for it to melt and go away :-) Christina- "Clean" is good news for your sister, and I am very happy for all of you.  My sister is still in the hospital and had a very bad night last night.  I think she will be in through Friday. Lucy was going back to work yesterday, has anyone heard how she is doing ?   I hope everyone has a safe commute today. Mary

Good Morning Christina and Wendi,  It's quite beautiful outside my back door towards the forrest behind my house, but the streets out front look icky.  I have already been out taking Tyler to his very last basketball practice this morning and the roads out here aren't too bad.   I had my 5th appt yesterday with the nut and had no change in weight, which I was disappointed in, but she said that because I have been sick more than not this past month, it's too be expected.  I have to contact the Kane center to get info on what other Dr's I need to see before they can submit in January.  I am getting excited, but also prepared for a denial because of the 5 yr medical history of Morbid Obesity, I only have 4, 5 years ago my BMI was between 37 and 38!  We shall see though. I have work today and then I have to stop at Petsmart and buy a belly band for Phantom who has been marking and decided to mark the Christmas tree last night!!!!  Shane already has one because he marks too.  Then to the post office for Christmas stamps and home for the night. Good Morning Illinois Chris I don't think we got as much snow as you did, maybe a couple inches less Mary I sure hope your sister gets to feeling better...... Monica have you heard anything on those jobs at the vet you applied for?   I really hope you get out of where you are job wise......can't be good for stress! Janet K.   How's your DH doing? Christina.....having a clean report sounds great!   Any news on how she's feeling yet?   And how are you feeling?  BTW how did the tile turn out in your kitchen and bathroom? Miss Lucy...I miss you! Hey Pam, no I haven't heard anything yet, but that's probably because the apps are sitting here on my desk.  I am wondering if it would be better to wait til after surgery rather than possiblely get the job and then have to take several weeks off yanno?  What do you think?   My job right now is going very well actually and I told my boss today about my surgery and he asked a lot of questions and supports me!  It would also just suck to be off for however long after surgery with NO pay....LOL   not sure I would even get pay at a new job though either....ugh...I just don't know what to do!

Stay right where you're at.......if your boss supports you that's what you'll need when the time comes!    In my opinion you have made the right choice!   But next time you are having a hard time with that boss of yours I'll have to remind you of the reasons you are staying!!  LOL

That's what I was thinking Pam, and yes you will have to remind me when the times suck again!  lol

Good Morning All - I'm doing fine, I talked to my sister yesterday and she was doing a lot of resting.  She's home and moving slow which is to be expected.  I did talk to her again about getting some counseling which she plans on doing. My house is an absolute mess.  They actually did not start demo until yesterday and I can not believe the mess and noise.  I knew there would be dust etc but oh my gosh.  Everything, and I mean everything will have to be totally cleaned.  I'm going to have to hire someone to come in and help with the cleaning once the floors are done.  I just can not physically do it right now. I'm going crazy not being able to get out and about.  I'm bored to death.  I never thought I would say this but I'm so ready to go back to work. Has anyone heard from Janet K?  I hope her hubby had a successful surgery.  They are using the same hand surgeon I used two years ago and I was very happy with him so I hope they have the same experience. Christina,     I am so glad this surgery is over for your sister......counseling, good idea!   Not heard from Janet yet..... I know what you mean by being bored......It's too bad they didn't get things done before your surgery so you have a peaceful time recouping....in bordom!     Now you or Chris can answer me on this......How long is my stomach going to be swollen from open rny?   And I am so sick of taking it easy!   Shoveled front and back of the house today and I am paying......going on 7 weeks post-op   when did you feel back to normal?    It really hurts at times where the tube was!   ouch!   Tylenol?  Not!   I am a hard core drug user...LOL...Alieve!    Now I can't have it!      Hugs Pam
