Sunday Roll Call

Good Morning IL  and how did everyone fare yesterday with that nasty storm? Lucy, you made a wise decision by cancelling the party yesterday. I know it was a hard thing to do, but I want to commend you on that. Dave came back home from church at about 315 and he said it was really icy; we did not even go to the party we were planning to go to in Bartlett. We stayed home, started the fireplace and I finished my tree.  What does everyone have planned today? We are going to a commercial cooking supply store in Lombard, called Schweppe and pick up a few things for next week.  Before and after that I have a small amount of organizing in the basement and around the house. I have clean curtains to rehang in our bedroom . . . you get the picture. Christine

Yes it was very icy yesterday, whenever I took my dog out she would slide everywhere. THen this morning, it is all gone. no ice anywhere. Illinois weather is crazy. Today I am doing laundry and then going to local bar to cheer my family on as they play euchre!! Then watching the Bears!!

Sounds like fun with your family, enjoy!  Yes our weather is always funky here in IL. The weather we had yesterday was an exact duplicate of last year on the same day. I remember scraping off ice after being at a party (same one that we did not go to last night) before we drove home. So, sometimes I guess it is predictable. At least the weather guys got this one right! Chris

Schweppe is great...I have been there in the past.  I need to get over there to get some new 1/2 sheet pans - my old ones are shot...

I went to the LapBand support group meeting yesterday and met Lisa in person..the roads in the evening were really rough.  there is one road by me with a big hill and cars were just sliding down it looking like pinballs...

George, good morning. Oh, that hill that would be kind of scary for the people in the cars down at the bottom wondering if the car in front was going to slide back down into their path. This is how long I have known about Schweppe - I remember going there with my mom when I was about 6 years old when they were in a location that was close to downtown Lombard! They have a great selection of EVERYTHING for the kitchen, home or commercial.  Have a great day, Christine

George, we just got back from Schweppe and man that place has added more stuff and they have more of the warehouse open so you can look at the big, big items. Since Dave loves to cook that place is a "toy store" for him to graze through. Chris

Uh-oh.  ;-)  I didn't need to hear that...I could do a lot of damage (to my wallet) there.

Chris, Where is Schweppe?  I am a  baker, and love new toys for decorating and baking.   I need a place for cake boxes and such

Wendy, it is in unincorporated Lombard, on North Ave (Rt 64) just east of  Rohlwing Rd (old Rt 53). Here is the link. http://www.schweppeinc.com/  Chris

George, that hill you are talking about, is it the road that is right by the mall?  the north side I believe and then east of it??  My Aunt and Uncle live not far from there at all.

Monica
