News about Christina

Hi all-I just spoke w/Christina and she is home and feeling fine.  Some discomfort, but is well supplied w/ pain meds.  Calvin is pampering her and she sounded great.  The surgery was late-aren't they all, and more extensive than she though it would be, but otherwise all went well.  She also said her sister's spirits are great- she has a positive attitude and that will go far in helping her to get through her battle w/breast cancer.  Let's keep them all in our prayers.  That all the news that's fit to print- stay warm and safe this week-end and for those lucky ones going to Lucy's soiree-have a great time-I sure wish I could be there.  Hugs to all-Janet K  

Thanks for the update on Christina, Janet.  I'm so glad that she's doing so well.  Now young lady, how are YOU doing?? 

I'm still the same as I was when I went into the hospital and no one knows why.  I tried calling the Kane Center today to ask my surgeon his thoughts on this, as a matter of fact I called twice.  It's not his day in the office and his nurse wasn't there either, and so I guess that means no one can call me back.  If I was holding my breath waiting for the call I'd be a nice purple by now.  I'll try again Monday.  Somebody has to be able to figure out why I am in such pain.  Hope your colds are getting better-stay warm and dry this week-end.  Hugs-Janet

Wow I must of missed something. I will have to go back and do some reading. IM glad shes doing ok. I will be praying for her recovery.

Sandy, Christina had some rescheduled foot surgery which I do believe was for bunions. She had one foot done and the other one will be done sometime next month or early in the year.  Chris ps - how are you doing?

Thanks for letting me know Chris. Im doing really good for the most part. My incesion is finially healing YAY. imm down 32lbs and 11 inches so I feel good. I have been sick the past few evening at the exact same time so Im kinda worried about that. I dont know why I could be doing that for. but all in all im good.

Hi Janet. Thank you for the update on Christina. Your right about surgeries being later than scheduled. I'm a stickler on that, I hate it when the surgery is delayed for whatever reason. It's worse when you're not the first case of the day! Christina has been there for all of us. So we are here for her. If her sister is anything like her, she will do just fine and win the battle. I am so sorry to hear that you were unable to get through to your surgeon. I am somewhat surprised that you weren't connected to one of the other surgeons as they cover for each other. I haven't had your experience with the Kane Center. I had Dr. Guske but when I had problems. one of the other surgeons handled it. The problems didn't relate to my RNY though. I was a lucky one and had no post-op issues. We will miss you at the party today and will fill you in on our event. As you see, it is a very small group that is coming and that is without last minute cancellations. Take care! Lucy

Glad all is going well for Christina! Glad her sister id have good spirits about her up coming med troubles. My mom in law had a mastsectomy on Wed of the left breast and she is doing fine. She had 2 small lumps. She said she had some minor discomfort but the pain really wasn't as bad as she would have thought.. Just alot of soreness. Well take care and THANK YOU for the update. Karen
