Saturday Roll Call
Good morning Illinois! We sure have a lot going on with our friends.
Christina is home and well after her foot surgery; Calvin is being helpful. Please keep her in your prayers.
Monica is battling a bad cold and now is helping her son who got it! I've had a number of colds in my day and hate them all. I pray that she feels better soon and things lighten up at home.
Mary W. is getting over a bout of bronchitis. That I am very familiar with as I had it in 2002. That hacking cough takes the wind out of you. I am keeping Mary in my prayers too that she feels better soon. I have to thank Mary as she graciously decided not to attend the party in case she would give it to someone, especially me since I am a newly post-op patient.
Marilyn M. has a new grandson who shares the same birthday as grandpa! Congratulations Marilyn on the birth of your grandson. Hope your daughter is doing fine after delivery. Marilyn is also not coming to the party tonight as she needs to tend to the other grandchildren.
Pam S. lost her grandmother of 98 y/o recently. Please keep Pam and her family in your prayers.
I think I got it all. If not, I apologize and will use the excuse that I am a pain med junkie! Not taking as much since last Saturday but boy I sure can feel it when I let it go too long.
I will have my cell phone on beginning at 3 pm and plan on being at the clubhouse shortly thereafter. Everyone who is coming, please be careful. There is parking right at the clubhouse or you can park along Denoyer Trail on the opposite side of the clubhouse only.

Good Morning Lucy & IL -
Thank you all for the warm wishes & prayers for a speedy recovery. As Janet posted, all went well except they did not expect to have to do as much tendon work as they did and I have two perm. pins/screws in my rt foot. I'm getting along fairly well, I don't really have it mastered yet but I can hobble. I'm just up for a few to go potty and take some meds and head back down. I sure wish I could come to the party tonight Lucy.. I just don't think I'm up for the drive and probably need to just stay in and rest. Dr's orders.
Hope all those under the weather and well quickly. It's just no fun being sick.

Good morning Christina. As I read your message, I was saying, ouch, ouch... Permanent pins and screws. yikes! I think you are doing very well. I'm sure that you are doing a lot better post-op now then before WLS. I can tell you that I recover a lot better with weighing less. I understand believe me that you can't make it tonight. I would have never expected that. We will have another get together. I can't wait to see you. It's been so long my dear friend! If I am elected to my homeowners association board again, I will have another free clubhouse rental! So we could do one in the spring.
Please rest!!! I am going back to work on Monday and not looking forward to it. I have a doc appointment late Monday morning and might have my facial and chin stitches removed. That is going to hurt as my stitches are crusted in my hair. I probably will cry! I am still swollen but for some reason I am used to it and not too depressed over it. I am wearing larger clothing for now. I hate to accept that. It was very hard for me to do.

Lucy, you sure are an early bird :-) I will be there this afternoon in spirit with all of you. I am keeping my fingers crossed that the weather holds up and everyone gets there safe and sound. Take care of yourself and enjoy the party and get some rest before you have to go back to work. I know you are looking forward to the comfort of your own bed again.
Congratulations Marilyn on your 5th grandchild. Christina, I am glad your surgery is over and you are on your way to recovery. Did you get one of those fashion favorite blue shoes ? Lucy is right, it stinks to have the delayed surgery. My surgery was scheduled for 11:00 am and I did not get in until 3:00, those were moments when I reconsidered even having it. I hope everyone who is battling colds, infections and other medical ills, gets better quickly. The holidays are a lousy time to be sick.
I think I am going to have a lazy day of napping, a little laundry and cleaning and then relax with a movie or a book.

Hi Mary. Oh sweetie, I want to thank you for your understanding. I so much wanted you here with us at the party. I promise that we will have another party and we'll have a blast!
The weather is not promising. I am taking some things over to the clubhouse this morning because I am not going to drive there. I don't want to have to scrap off ice from the windshield. I'm going to ask someone to drive me back to the house. It will be a small group of people though. Lots of food and drink though!
At least you can take it easy, rest and watch the nasty weather from your window.

Good morning Chris. I was out already at Walmart and forgot to get some bottled water. I have to go out again and will pick some up somewhere.
I'm headed to the clubhouse at 10 to drop off some things, then back home until 3.

We will be leaving for the burbs ina few minutes (at 9:00 am), since I want to o to the Lapband Suport group meeting.
then a quick trip to Long Grove to meet cousins for lunch, then to your party. Hopefully the mess will wait until laterto hit us.
I am glad Christina is doing ok, and sorry about everyone who is under the weather. You will be missed at Lucy's party.

Hi everyone! I hope everyone has a ton of fun at the party and safe travel in the scary weather! I had an interesting moment last night. Since I started dating my boyfriend about 8 months ago, I fell out of the party scene. For one, it isn't good for you, and for two, I always just felt like the ugly fat friend. Last night was the first time I've been out in ages. I was getting hit on...a lot.... it was a nice feeling even though I didn't want anythin to do with the guys. My friend got mad! She was actually MAD that she wasn't getting attention. We ended up leaving the bar because she flipped out. Its heartbreaking that someone so close to me would act like that.
