Threatening Weather, Should We Cancel Party??
I hate to be writing this. I was listening to the morning news and weather. They are predicting a storm this weekend. Saturday mid-morning it is supposed to start with snow flurries and then in the evening, change to freezing rain and rain, then Sunday again back to snow.
I know that many of you are coming a distance and I am concerned for your safety.
My question is: Should we cancel the party and look for another date? We would have to look into January or February and it still will have to be weather permitting.
Please let me know what you think. I would have to let the lady who handles the clubhouse rentals know.
I'd still love to have the party but I will leave it up to you as I don't have far to travel to the clubhouse.
Thanks
Lucy
I say no - but if the consensus is to cancel then I will go along with everyone else because some of the others are coming from a distance away. weather.gov web site say high of 34 then in the evening it is to change to rain from freezing rain/sleet. The state roads should be fine with the crews and most towns will have their crews out also.

Actually, this type of weather on this coming weekend is not uncommon. I can always remember because we go to Moody Memorial Church (1600 N LaSalle) for a sacred music concert on the Friday of and then a former co-worker always has his Christmas party on that Saturday. I can remember anywhere from a few inches of snow on the ground, rain (in the 40 degrees area) to bitter, bitter wind. And in downtown Chicago the wind is nasty because we have to walk 2 blocks to the church from the parking and then stand outside until the doors open for the concert.
So, if everyone is of the opinion to postpone we will understand. Just remember we get some nasty weather in January also.
