If they accept Medicare and or Medicaid: Accepts Medicaid but there is a waiting list. About a 2 year wait currently. Cannot accept Medicare at this time. Maybe by 2009.

 My Hospital takes Medicaid and Medicare and i don't think there is a long waiting list. I called 4 months ago and I'm just waiting for my approval letter from public aid which should be here on Monday and i can set my date for surgery for the 30 of September or October 7. The hospital name is Carle and its in champaign Illinois and the doctor is Oliphant.

I thought Dr. Maillefer stopped taking medicaid? Or maybe just out of county?
I was in Ogle county, now whiteside, and he did my RNY Dec. 6, 2004 and he sent me a letter that he was no longer doing my follow up care because of stopping accepting the medicaid, and NOW I'm struggling with nutrition and anemia because no doctor around here is familiar enough with the surgery:(

They no longer  do the surgerys any more im in dekalb and they referd me to joilet

Hi! Where in Joliet, Silver Cross Hospital?  Do they take medicare? Did you have to be waitlisted (long wait for approval), who was your doctor? I'm so sorry for all the questions, but I'm getting pretty desperate.  Which procedure did you have?  I'm', almost 11 year out form having the RNY and omehow it creeped back on me, surely not cuz I eat more but because my gatro person said perhaps my pouch enlarged. 

Any info you can provide would be a BLESSING!

Did you try Dr. Denham at Evanston Northwestern he does revisions and accepts Medicaid.

WOW!!! My suggestion is that I would look other places to get in sooner. I know you can get into other places alot sooner. It would be a good idea to ask before starting their program.
