HAS ANYONE BEEN TO DAY ONE IN CHICAGO

I AM GOING TO HAVE A FILL. I HAVE NEVER  BEEN HERE BEFORE I JUST WANTED TO KNOW ANYTHING ANYONE CAN TELL ME ABOUT THIS FACILITY. DOC, NURSE, ETC.

Hey Katy.. I don't know anything about Day One but noticed your a patient of Dr. Rosen.  None of my business and you don't have to answer if you don't want to but was just curious as to why you were not getting your fills for Dr. R. Hope  you did not have a bad experience.  My hubby is getting close to having lap band and was just wondering. Christina

well, i just wanted a new perspective. i had my surgery over two years ago. i have  lost only about 80lbs  which seems like alot but its all relative. life weigh has a program that offers 30 minutes of exercise once a week for an additional price, Also they offer the medifast diet which is expensive and puts you in ketosis. i  am still paying for  surgery and also it is not practical for me to drive 1 1/2 hours  both ways  for 30 minutes of exercise which i am already doing. i still don't have the appropriate restriction. So i want to optimize the band before i think of other options and also get another point of view.

Hi Katy, Life weigh does not force you to join the  fitness part of their program. You should stay with the surgeon that knows your Lap Band best but I understand the travel time. I have heard that other facilities charge initiation fees and the price of the adjustment could be higher. My girlfriend went to another doctor after surgery and they charges her an outrageous fee since she had surgery somewhere else. Just make sure that you ask all the questions so you don't have any surprises.

Hi Katy, I haven't been to Day One, but I think that's where my surgeon is now located.  They have a facility in downtown Chicago, on Mich ave I think...and another office in Oakbrook, right? Please let me know what you think of the place since I should really get back and check in with a doc.  Not sure I need a fill at this point, but I might want a little more restriction soon. thanks, Paula

i had a great experienc!!!! Dr.Shayani is very knowledgeable he explained things to me very well. my fill was 3 days ago and i fill a major difference in my restriction. i would reccommend day one to anyone.

Hi Katy, Thanks for letting me know how things went for you!  And I'm so glad you are feeling that difference with the restriction.  I'm still feeling restriction from my last fill which was a looong while ago....but I really feel like I should at least "check in" with Dr Shayani.  When he left Loyola, we were kind of left hanging...but I will look into following up with him soon.
