medicaid and psych eval

anyone get the psych eval covered and if so where did u find the doc or can i have the doc name u used.   Lost as far as to find a doc that accepts medicaid and they wont give me a listing

I don't know of any in the Granite City area but I do know that Medicaid DOES cover the psych eval...you just have to find one in your area or close by that accepts the medical card~also your pcp should be able to help you locate one if you can't locate one yourself...otherwise you might try calling the Springfield office~

any idea how i can go about finding one.  springfield office wont help and my pcp has no idea.  I mean I am willing to travel wherever i need to to get this done.  I am supposed to go to chicago with dr. ayloo for the surgery, but i want to get the psych eval done first because she said if i get that doen it will warrent only 1 visit for the consult and nutritionist and then i wont have to go back again until surgery date as i can get all my pre op testing done close to home. Chicago is a 4 1/2 hour drive away for me

I couldn't find one that would take it so I borrowed the $300 from my dad to pay for it. I now have my upper GI this Friday and the pulmonary consilt the 25th. Had the sleep study (and subsequent bi-pap machine) since I have sleep apnea and I had the consuly with the NUT. All those have been covered by medicaid so far. I have the Harmony version until 01/01/08. I know I have had so much trouble finding a doctor!! I only found one actually so that is where I have been planning on going. I would love to have at minimum a second consult.  If I hear of medicaid options I will let you know and please do the same for me!! Thanks and have a great evening, Angie
