Good Morning Illinois!!! My, my........looks like everyone had a great weekend. Welcome to the Illinois board, George, we are here for you! Janet1963 and Marilyn are both having surgery this morning, so keep them in your thoughts and prayers and watch for updates. We had a nice weekend.  David's high school team won again on Saturday, so only 3 more games to win to become state champions again!  It is CRAZY in the boon docks when the home team is winning, let me tell ya! Since Olivia is grounded, I took the opportunity to get a few things done on Saturday.  I spent most the day getting that bathroom cleaned and I did the kitchen too.  I never did get to the big front windows, but I will.   The grandkids came out to spend the night and we went to Olivia's play.  The kids loved it. Today, just work for me, nothing special.  I HAVE started on the 1 year profile update and hope to have it finished today.  I still have to have pictures taken though. What is going on in your world today?

Dear Martha: Please hang in there and know that things will only get better.  I DO remember those first few days and weeks.  Walking is the best thing you can do, even if it is just around the house at first.  The second best thing is rest.  I slept on and off for the first week, and still neede naps for the second and third weeks. Just take it VERY slow and be patient.  Every day WILL get better. Hope this helps..........

Hi Martha ... that's all very natural ... so hang in there.  Since everyone is different with experiences/healing, etc., what my nutritionist always told me as a new post-op was that you're pouch needs to stay "lubed" ... therefore eating every 2-1/2 to 3 hours ... doesn't have to be a meal, but preferrably something with protein -- a shake, broth, yogurt, or if need be, just a sugar-free popsicle -- I pretty much lived on them the first month or two post-op (plus they satisfy the "crunch" need).  The biggest concern most surgeons have with new post-ops is dehydration, and then protein intake. I suffered from nausea since I woke up from surgery ... thing is ... if you don't eat often enough (the 2-1/2 to 3 hours), you'll feel nauseated, and then when you finally DO eat, you'll feel even more nauseated.  I was also given an anti-nausea med from my surgeon, you may want to ask about that too -- but try the food thing. Hang in there ... the best to ya!

Touch base with your doc's office maybe they can give you a prescription for the nausea.  Chris

Good Morning Dawn & the rest of IL - So far so good...  I got a lot accomplished over the weekend.  The back & side yard has been completely, tilled, grated, seeded & strawed.  It looks amazing even without the grass it looks 150% better.  I hit a great perenial sale over the weekend so I bought 25 perenials, got those planted in a new area in the back then planted 150 spring bulbs in the front of the house... Oh how I can't wait to see them in the spring.  Can I just say there is absolutely no way I would have been able to do any of that a year ago!!!!  I'm so greatful to of been able to have wls.  I've trully been blessed.  Calvin and I decided on ceramic tile for the kitchen and guest bath and actually picked one out yesterday that we both liked.  That is a big deal!  Now we have to find a new vanity for the guest bath.  We pretty much have it narrowed down, just need to finalize.  I'm so exited at the progress we are making on the house.  I've always been the type that wants immediate results and know it takes time & lots of money but darnit, I want it done NOW!!!  LOL If all goes as planned, they may be starting on the master bath soon.  It's a master bath now but I want a real master bath.  It will be about 3x the size as it is now with a big soaker tub, sep shower double sink, sep walk out w/ a french door to the patio where I'll eventually have a hot tub.  So you'll have access to the hot tub off the master bedroom or master bath.  We already have the patio and french doors off the bedroom but I'm thinking a sep entrance/exit off the bath would be ideal when coming in wet and also offer night natual light into the bathroom..     Enough about me..  Just working, probably going to have to work late tonight and tomorrow night.  They are shutting down the system tomorrow evening and we will be completely converted over to the new system come Nov 12 which means no system from wed - fri and lot of work and learning curves the following week. Dawn.. you should have mail probably by wed or thursday.  Thanks so much for all the great clothes! My thoughts and prayers are with Janet & Marilyn today as they start the next phase of their journey. Congrats to our new post-ops.  Everyone is home and recovering..  Pam, Christen, Lisa, Sandra, Janet, Martha  sending good vibes to you all. I have not seen a post from Cindy.. X-ray Chick in awhile.  Anyone heard from her?  Just wondering how she is doing post-op.   Have a great day everyone! Christina

Hi Dawn and all! Just another manic monday here.  Weekend was nice, visited with peeps on Saturday, went to football game yesterday and then to my favorite thrift store, and didn't spend enough there, so I went to the casino!  That did the trick.   Anyway ... back to work ... have a few support group meetings this week, hopefully I'll squeeze in a little fun! Have a good Monday.

good morning Pam and IL Board, I am doing better now, had a  rough morning, when I got up my stomach felt like it was on fire, or something, the pain and the feeling I was having was making me sick, so I make my protine drink and siped that down and I am feeling better now,  I went to the bank and had to get gas in the car, boy has the gas went back up again Martha, Hope you get to feeling better soon, just make sure you are keeping something in your stomach all the time, I think that is what happen to me this morning, Christina you are a very busy person,  I sure hope that my next spring that I will be able to get back in the yard and plant flowers again, not much else going on here hope everyone has a great day,

Success begins with wise choices I make,I will not let noncompliance be my mistake, The surgery I had was to assist me in changes. My compliance is for a success long range, So I will think before I decide to cheat. Remember the goals I want to meet. For this surgery is not something I was force to do It was what I wanted for a healthy life!
