5K Walk this weekend

Hi IL Board, The Walk from Obesity event in September got me addicted to walking 5K's. I've done a couple of other walking events (my times aren't the greatest, but I DO finish the walks) in the last few months. This Saturday I'll be walking in another 5K in Fullersburg Woods in Oakbrook,IL if any of you want to join me. It looks to be a fairly good weekend, weather wise....and the area we are walking is very pretty...you can enjoy the fall colors!!  Of course, I will have a four-legged walking partner (already checked with the event coordinator that it's ok to bring the dog) but I'd love to have some other people to join in.   If you have any questions, drop me a PM or email at : [email protected] Hugs!! Hi Paula - I hope you're enjoying your time off.  I love the new Avatar. I'm really proud of you..  You have found a new love for walking and that is great.  Who cares about the time, it's finishing that is the great accomplishment.   Keep up the great work.  Missed you last night at support group.   Christina

Hi Christina, Which avatar are you seeing?  I keep trying to change it, but my profile looks the same!! ugh!  I am not very computer savy. I agree that the times don't really matter....I'm just glad that I can even finish....I know that I'd never have been able to join in on one of these walks in the past....now I enjoy them so much!  Truth be told, I enjoy my daily walks in the forest preserve or just in the neighborhood more than the actual 5K walks....but, it is something to train for.  I'm hoping that by next year I will be able to walk/jog some of them. For now, I blame my terrible times on a certain little dog that has to stop at every tree along the way! LOL!! I missed the support group meeting   but I will plan on making it to the next one if possible. I will be checking the website for the recipes...with all the parties coming up, I will need some good ideas!
