Copy of message from Lincoln's Nana(my sister)
We finally got in to see the little guy. He's swollen from the surgery and has all kinds of tubes coming out of him and he's the most beautiful blessing we've ever seen. He's all pink - not blue - but pink and when we look at the monitors, his oxygen levels are 100%. The doctor told us that "he's just a normal kid now". And they were the most perfect words we could hear.
He is still on the ventilator, they will wean him off it sometime within the next 24 hours. He kept trying to wake up, one little eye was almost half way open, but he keeps deciding against waking up yet. Which is just fine with us, right now he needs his rest. Denny and I are going back on Sunday.
There are no words to describe how much all of your prayers and support have meant to all of us. There was another family waiting with us and their son's surgery did not go as well, and we felt so blessed to be able to offer comfort to them. It also reminded us how lucky and blessed we were with today's results.
Sami and Bob are two very exhausted, but relieved parents. Their strength today made Denny and I so proud. Lincoln has two wonderful parents.
If all continues to go well, he should be home and back in his crib in 10 -14 days.
Again, my whole family says a huge thank you to all who have kept him in their prayers. Hugs to all-Janet K
