File finally went to the review department
Well, after much arguing with the insurance company, and the complete run around for 2 weeks, I finally got somewhere. I asked for a supervisor, told him I was so tired of the run around, and he apologized. Told me that they had the piece they said was missing, and was forwarding my file to the Medical Review Department. I don't know about being approved since the rep. I talked to told me I was not on a low enough calorie diet. That 1200 calories is not considered a very low calorie diet. My Dr supervised diet is affiliated with the surgeons office, I would think they would know what the insurance is looking for. So I can only assume it was yet another stall tactic. At least now I know I should have my answer in about 5 days, maybe sooner. I know I will try calling Friday to see if they have an answer then. Cross your fingers for me, at this rate I need all the good luck I can get. Thanks
crossing everything that I can for you Renee!! I can't believe they said that 1200 calories wasn't low enough, when I told my NUT that is what BCBS was looking for, she laughed and said, NO WAY am I putting you on that....it's way too low, so she gave me a plan with 1800 calories, boy I hope that won't be a problem! Please keep us updated on what's going on and you will be in my thoughts!!
