Medicaid

 Hello all. I was wondering if anyone knows of a Doctor  that will do the lap band with Illinois medicaid.  I live in Southern Illinois and I don't think there is a doctor in this area but not sure. Anyway any help at all is appreciated! Thanks.

I don't know of anyone in Southern Illinois that will let you use Medicaid.  I heard that the University of Chicago takes it.

Hi, i'm from Southern Illinois and I havn't had surgery yet, still researching., however my husband and I did go the a seminar at Paducah, KY at Lourdes Hospital.  Dr. Argontte, not sure on the spelling.  He was very  informativfe, took his time and any questions we had he stayed after it was over.  He touched on medicaid, but I have the insurance so I wasn't really paying much attention on that part.  He is the only surgeron I know of close by.  I'm hoping to get the gastric sleeve.  We'll just have to wait and see.  Good Luck with yours searching!

I live in south central IL, and the only doctor I was able to find that took IL Medicaid was a Dr. Eagon out of Barnes Hospital in St. Louis. They had a two year waiting listh though, and my BMI was not high enough for me to qualify with their office. I ended up going up north to Evanston Northwestern Hospital and paid for my sugeon fees on my own. It was truly the only shred of hope I could find having IL Medicaid. I have a freind of mine now though who is going through the University of Chicago though, you may want to check it out. Good luck and dont give up, Im so glad I didnt!!!!

Illinois Medicaid does not cover lap band only rny and I know this because I am using it at the University of Illinois at Chicago. My surgery is next month. If you want to make the drive then go for it. I am using D. Ayloo, she and her team are great!!! Hope this helps!!!
