Hospital Question
Hey Monica,
It all depends on your preference/time constraints plus Dr. Rantis' schedule so, It's a bit of a duel decision. If you have a preference, let them know before they send in paperwork for the date. I didn't have a preference so they just scheduled me at the hospital with the soonest open time. If you narrow yourself down to one hospital, you may really push your date back. Last time I talked to Bessi, Dr. Rantis' schedule was filling up FAST. I think I got lucky with a cancellation. Hope that helps.
That helps a ton actually. I don't really have a preference so it won't matter, I'll just take the soonest date when it comes up. I had Tyler at St Alexius, of course it was still Hoffman Estates Medical Center then, and I had Jacob at Alexian Brothers. Great experiences at both places.
Thanks a lot for your response

I think the patient gets to choose. The only reason I say this is because a friend of mine is a patient of Dr Guske and she had RNY at St Alexius. I also know a lady from church that is a NUT at St Alexius and has talked of the "complete" WLS program at St Alexius. So, I think that they do both surgeries there.

Usually it's your decision. I had wanted to go to St. Alexis as it's only down the street from my house but I had to go to Alexian Brothers.
Dr. Hart, the pulmonoligist, wanted me nearby as we discovered that I had sever sleep apnea just prior to my surgery.
So I was at Alexian Bros. The staff there were wonderful but the facilities leave alot to be desired.
Two weeks after surgery I was back int he hospital due to a wound infection at my drain site. this time I opted for St. A and I liked it there much better.
Regards and hugs,
Ronna
