Anyone with BCBSIL PPO?
Well, I called BCBSIL back yesterday and got a really nice guy. He was so helpful and nice I was happy to talk to him. He had found some of the papers they needed while looking through my file and said he was going to have it reviewed again by a nurse and get back to me. When he called me back this morning he stated it was the 6 month diet proof that I followed it that was missing. Then while we talked he said hang on a sec I want to talk to the nurse about something I just found. So I waited and he came back and said we have the proof you followed the diet, exercise, etc. What we are missing is the 5yr medical history of morbid obiesity. He told me they need something that does not just state the day/ year and weight but that at my height etc. my weight would make me morbidly obese. They did send chart records with the weights. However BCBSIL is stating it is not enough. So now I have to wait again while the girl at my Dr/'s office talks to the Dr, so he can put a letter together and sign it. Most likely another week will go by. Then I will have to wait on BCBSIL again. I was told if I could get those papers to them I would be approved as they have everything else. I can only hope and pray that is true.
I was told that you need to lose a min of 10% but no more than 20%. I actually know someone who was denied because she only lost 5%. I was told this by the insurance people at my doctors office. When you call BCBS they won't ell you much about that. They will just tell you exactly was the policy states. It's really not in the policy. BCBS are B@#%ARDS! But I finally got approved. Good Luck!
