OT: Anyone know of any stray cat rescues?

Or do would you like a fur baby? There is a beautiful Orange long-haired tabby living on my deck. She is so cute, so loving, and needs a good home. It breaks my heart to see her out there, and I know for a fact she is not feral. She lets me pet her, doesn't run away from me when I am outside, and has even jumped up on the patio furniture while I was sitting outside. She doesn't even growl at me when I move her away from the food I leave out. I'd love to take her in, but I have a very very very territorial and young Maine Coon at home that would torture this poor thing to no end. Anyone have any ideas?

Cat Guardians, 932 E St Charles Rd in Lombard. 630-543-3395.  I took a cat we took in there once-they may ask for a donation.  I didn't have to give one as I provided all her supplies and vet records and bills.  Hope this helps-Janet K

Thanks Janet. I'll give them a try but I had a bad experience with them when I was younger. My parents decided they were going to adopt a cat for me for my birthday. The three of us had gone in several times, the woman had met all of us, and she knew what my parents' plan was. When my birthday came along, my mom and I went in to adopt the cat and my father went to work because we were told it wouldn't be a problem. When we got there, she would not let us adopt the cat, acted like she had never met us, and told my mother its woman like her that throw poor kittens out on the street. I'm still traumatized, can you tell? LOL. Hopefully they won't be so mean this time!

Kristen, You can try Pet Rescue in Bloomingdale. They ar located on Bloomingdale Rd about 2 block north of Lake Street. They take in both cats and dogs. I had a cat I had to drop off there a few months ago. They claimed that they didn't have any room but it was either leave the cat there and run when They weren't looking or let him run wild in the streets. I went back a few days later and they did in fact have him. I hated to just drop and run but it was my only choice. I grew up there and just moved but they have been there for ever. Good Luck, Mike
