BC/BS of IL question...

I'm from MA but I have BC/BS of IL .. I just finished my 6 month required diet for insurance, this past Friday .. my question is .. How long did it take for you to get approval?

I have no idea but I wanted to say congrats on finishing the 6 month diet.  How much did you lose on it?  I am in my 2nd month, have my 3rd visit on Oct 9th.  I'm keeping my fingers crossed that you get approval soon!!!

I got my letter in 2 weeks.  They say anywhere from 30 days to 2 weeks.  Good luck and I am sure you will get approved!!!  Keep us updated!

Prior to work for Edward Hospital, I was an investigator for Blue Cross of Illinois.  If your documents are all in order it could take as little as one week.  Many of the patients that I know from the Bariatric Center that I am going to are getting their approval in one week.  If additional info is needed it may take two weeks.  Blue Cross is very fast as long as all the criteria is met from the medical policy manual that is available on line.  The 30 day things is just a requirement by law that they cannot take more than 30 days to review a precertification.  Believe me when I say this, Blue Cross is serious about processing work in a timely fashion.  You should hear your response soon.  We are waiting together.  My file will go to Blue Cross on Thursday.  Good luck.  How exciting!
