Waiting for approval

Hello Everybody, This is my first post.  I am trying to keep myself as busy as possible as I wait for my file to be sent to Blue Cross for approval.  It will be sent some time at the end of next week.  So I probably should hear something by Oct 4th.  I don't think I have anything to worry about, but I hate waiting.  My BMI is 54.4 and I'm tired of being sick.  I am 18 months out of having thyroid cancer and every day is a struggle.  Does anyone have any suggestions for me on books that I can read or things I can do to prepare myself for surgery?  I think my surgery date may be November 5th. Let me know...thanks. Janet

The one book I did buy is Weight Loss Surgery for Dummies.  It has a lot of information and even some recipes.   If you are not squirmish, go to You Tube and search Bariatric procedures and you will find several web casts for RNY and Lapband

Hi Janet - Welcome to the OH IL Board.  I was also going to suggest, Weightloss Surgery for Dummies.  Your family can also read this book and get great information.  I went to my local library when I was seeking wls and they had TONS of different books to choose from.  And the great part, they are free to borrow!  Just a thought.

Good Luck to you, pop in and say hello to us.  We have a daily roll call and great support here.

Hi Janet Thanks for the reply and welcome.  Is that a minpin I see?  I have two of them, Cosmo and Emma.

I'm going to Barnes and Noble today to see if I can find one of your suggestions.  If you have any questions about Blue Cross, don't hesitate to ask.  I used to be an investigator for them in the medical review unit.  I would love for all of us to hear a quick reply.  This seems like such a long process.  I think that this time should be veiwed as an exciting time in our lives.  I cannot wait for the transformation.  I think that it will really help to have people that I can talk to.  Thanks again.

Success begins with wise choices I make,I will not let noncompliance be my mistake, The surgery I had was to assist me in changes. My compliance is for a success long range, So I will think before I decide to cheat. Remember the goals I want to meet. For this surgery is not something I was force to do It was what I wanted for a healthy life!
