Support meetings in Rockford?

Hello,   I had surgery on August 14th and I met a friend having surgery also on the same day.  The problem is that she doesn't know of any support groups in the rockford area.  Thanks for any answers. 

There was a group out of Barix but now that they closed I cannot tell you where anyone out there might be meeting. I see from your post that you are out of Waukegan would it be feasable for you to travel to Evanston or Milwaukee? There are groups out of those areas. There is a group of us that are meeting for an informal get together at Panera Bread near Woodfield, Schaumburg this coming Sunday. Would your friend and yourself be interested in coming and meeting some of the rest of us from the IL board? Thank-you Christine for your answer, I would love to meet other people but unfortunately this Saturday I can't make it but thank you for you invite.  I will let my friend know because she has no support group in her area.  I have a group here in Waukegan that meets monthly so I  have been attending their meetings since June.    Thank you Christine  Ree

Ree -- It's Sunday.. Not Saturday.  Just don't want your friend to show up on the wrong day.  Maybe you both can make in on Sunday. Stick around on the IL board and you will get great support from wonderful people that are either going thru or having gone thru what you are. Take Care. Christina

Hello,

There is a meeting in Rockford at St. Anthony Center for Health.  We meet once a month on the last monday of the month.  Most of us are patients of the Peoria Surgical Group, but some are previous Barix patients and some are UW Madison patients.  Here is the information:

Monday, September 24, 2007
6:30PM - 8:00PM
OSF Saint Anthony Center for Health building
- 2nd Floor - usual room

The Center for health by the hospital on State St.   right beside Tumbleweeds.  I will also be attending the meet and greet on Sunday.  I hope to see you there.
