It has been 17 days since my surgery and I have lost 21 lbs.  However, for the last 3 days I have stayed the same.  I am drinking my water, having 1-2 protein shakes and walking like crazy.   What am I doing wrong?

BBKelly - What are you doing wrong??  Step away from the scale my dear.  It will get you crazy.  You are doing great.  A 21lb loss is fantastic.  You will go thru times when your body has to catch up with the weight loss.  Don't worry, you are on track and will do just fine as long as you continue to follow your sugeons guidelines.   Congratulations and don't be a stranger.  We are all here to get support and give support.

Well I haven't had surgery yet, but honestly I think you are doing great!  I would imagine that your body has to catch up somewhat so it kinda stalls. I'm sure the scale will show that in the long run.  Good luck and congrats on a job well done so far!

It is common for your body to stop loosing at this point. It is regrouping and adjusting to the decreased calories and added exercise. Also remember that your body is recovering from major surgery and it needs time to heal. Now, do what Christina says about the scale but I will add - GIVE IT AWAY TO SOMEONE TEMPORARILY!!!  it will drive you crazy. Just rely on the scale at the doctor's office and how your clothing is fitting.  Christine

You are doing marvelous! Your body needs to catch up. That's a huge weight loss in such a short time. Your weight will start to drop again. I went through the same thing. I know it is hard to not get on that scale. I cried when the scale didn't move. I felt like why did I have the surgery because the scale didn't move. Here I am hardly eating anything and I'm not losing weight. Believe me, that will change. It's something that you will be experiencing throughout your weight loss journey. You do get used to it over time. Hugs, Lucy

Lucy   Oh my GOD, I spent all this money, I am so hungry,  I am tired of excersising, wah, wah, wah and the darn scale hasn't moved!    I decided not to weigh myself until Saturday morning. Thanks for the words of encouragement.   I was really feeling down in the dumps!  I so want to lose 25 pounds by January 15th for that's one of my first goals.  Barb
