pcp upset me today

Ok today i went to the PCP with my husband. Hes having some major issues they think he might have somenerve damage that will deteriate his musscles and nerves. As if we havent been through enough latley.Anyways. hes lost mass amounts of weight. I asked the doctor if he sould gain weight and how he can do that safely? He looked at my husband and said "Just eat as much as she does" and started to laugh . he knows ive been aproved for my surgery and he knows my son justdied. why would he say this? Am I overreacting? I was crying on the way home he really hurt my feels. You know I own a mirror I KNOW im FAT without him making fun of me.

I don't think that you are over reacting------it is either time for a new doctor, or you should tell him how hurtful he's been.  I vote for the new doctor.

Dont let that bother you people are always going to open there mouth before thinking, even when you get smaller someone is going to say you are too small, but dont worry about it you are on your way to the losing side of the bench keep your head up. Sabrina

He was not being funny, That was a cruel thing to say. You yourself know that it isn't always what you eat. I would find a new PCP, and when you do, explain to her or him what happened with the previous one. Also, when you find your new one, write a note to the old one telling him what made you change Dr'.s.  Lisa

What an a$$.  I swear people can be so rude!  Some doctors have no bedside manners. 

Try not to let some idiot have free rent in your head.  It's just not worth it.  You are a beautiful person regardless of what size you are.  Love youself sweetie.

Oh I am so so sorry a big ((((HUGS)))) , that dr. is such a Ass, Sorry I just don't know what to say , I just can't believe  that he said such a thing, People in this world just are so rude any more,  I don't think you are overreacting I would have felt the same way, I would not go back to him that is for sure,

I not only would get a new Dr., I would see if there is an ethics board and report him.  What he said was cruel and uncalled for.  I'm sorry you were hurt like that-you've had enough to cope with.  I'll keep you and your family in my prayers.  Try to just blow off that idiot's remarks and concentrate on you and your hubby getting healthy together.-Hugs-Janet K

Sounds like he needs a good ass kicking.  I would find a new doctor if it was me.  I would keep your next apointment and when you dont show for it make sure you tell the phone clerk when she calls to find out why you didnt show up how much of an ass her boss is and why you will never be using his services again.  If you were a guy I would give hime some slack because guys joke around about stuff like that but if he doesn't know that you should never say that to a woman, especially after what your going through then I wonder how this guy ever made it through med school.  Your reaction is right on! Dan, with some insurances you have to make sure you show up for an appointment otherwise the doctor's office will bill the insurance company for a no show. Her best bet is to find a new PCP after she has her surgery. She does not want to make waves right now being pre op. As far as the doctor saying what he said to a woman, this is unacceptable behavior to even say to a man. That doctor was way out of line period. Chris
