Thursday Roll Call

Good morning one and all! It looks like it will be a fantastic day in northern area of IL, hope you all have a good one by you also.  Be sure to check out the post titled September 23rd, a date has been set for the meet and greet. This one will take place near Woodfield shopping center and then the next one will be out near Rockford. Kim had suggested going to an apple orchard out in that area; which would be fantastic with it being October and apple season. Hey, we might get a little walking in then also.  Well, some surgery dates might be fast approaching for a couple of people.  Sandra has all of her pre op testing done and Kim is waiting on the paperwork submission and then approval. Hopefully it will go fast for you ladies. Dee is waiting on a call regarding her interview. Dee, nothing says you cannot call them and ask. It shows that you have an interest in the matter. Keep others in mind that are having family/pet health issues going on (Monica) that all goes smoothly with appointments. We have some busy members that have not been able to check in lately, keep them in mind also. It also sounds like we also have people with heavy loads at their work. You all be sure to take some time for yourselves even if it is just to get away to the ladies room.  Need to get ready for work, take care. Christine

Good morning to all.  Today at work I have to get some shirts done for the police in Maple Park and then I will be leaving early, I hope, to get the pup to the vet.  There is definately something wrong.  I also have to call Austyn's Dr about showing him the video of Austyn on vacation.   Tyler has his second football game this afternoon and hopefully the weather will stay at beautiful as it is now.   Today WILL be a good day!   I hope everyone has a wonderful day and enjoys the sunshine and cooler weather. 

I know that I am not alone in this but when the sun is out you feel oh so better. My Dave gets depressed. I have mentioned to him that he probably needs one of those lamps to bring him artificial sun when it is so gloomy in winter. Chris

Good morning Illinois!!!! I found a bunch of stuff for the tie dye party yesterday at lunch.  I got the neighbor baby boy a couple of shirts and a gown, Riley pants, a skirt and a couple of shirts, Olivia and I 2 pairs of sleep pants and a hoodie, and David an Old Navy long sleeved shirt.  All for about $20.00!!!  Not bad!

For those that have asked, to tie dye, you just use rubber bands or cords to tie designs into the fabric.  Then I get special dyes (Rit just fades out) from Dharma Trading Co.  We make up the dyes in squeeze bottles and squeeze the colors where you want it.  The fabric stays tied in a ziplock bag for a few hours (overnight is best).  In the morning, you rinse them out, first with the bands on, then after the bands come off and wash as usual then wear your artwork!

I have run a couple of tie dye events and am getting better at it all the time.  It is a lot of fun to see what designs appear after the bands are removed.  I will post some pictures from the last one for anyone who is interested.  They will be up today.

So anyway.....today it's off to Wally World for gloves and ziplock bags, then we should be all set! Maybe we can do a tie dye event at one of our future gatherings............... I am keeping everyone in my thoughts and prayers for all that is going on with all my Illinois friends.

September 23rd sounds great to me!  I will get a chance to go to Ikea then!  COOL!!!!

 

You made a haul at the resale shop. Sometimes I get some of the nicest jeans, jean shorts and sweaters there. You probably just got there when they were trying to sell off some of their stock to make room for the new donations. The party sounds like a lot of fun and good community to be with friends and family. Ikea is less than a mile from the Panera Bread. In fact you will go right past Ikea when you get off of the tollway to get to the restaurant. Chris

Hi everyone! Today not much going on.  I have to take the little boy I babysitt to the docter in Woodstock.  We were playing outside yesterday and he got a few mosqito bites and his eye is swollen shut!  The bites are very hard and look very uncomfortable.  I am off to go get my oil changed and car washed.  Today I made the final payment on my car!!!!!  It's paid off!  What a good feeling!   Sept 23 it is!  Sounds great!  Everyone put it on there calendars and plan for a good time and good company!!!   Everyone have a good day !!!!!!  I can't wait to meet everyone in person on Sept 23rd! How is the little guy's bites? It sounds like he is allergic to them. I get nasty itchy but not like someone that is allergic.  I know the feeling regarding car payments. The last two cars we have bought we paid cash for. Mine was a used Cavalier, 1993 with only 36,000 miles on it and Dave got one of the first Aveo's that was on the road. We have not had a car payment since about 1994, come to think of it we have not had a mortgage payment since about 15 years ago! We just have taxes that seem to keep going up in DuPage county. Heard anything from Maggie at Kane's office yet? Christine

Good Morning Everyone.  I talked to my pcp this morning, my letter from her was faxed to the Kane Center on Tuesday. Now I am waiting for Maggie to call and verify she received it, and hopfully summitted it to BCBS. I quess now it is the wait and see game.   Heres hoping to meet everyone on the 23rd.  Lisa
