Found surgeon.2 year wait.Shayani definately no medicaid.
Hey everyone.I Hope everyone is staying cool today.Well,I did find a surgeon.I contacted Washington University in St.Louis MO.They won`t do the LapBand on someone that has or has had surgery to fix a hiatal hernia.BUT! They will do the Gastric Bypass.Which by the way I`ve definately decided to do that one instead of the LapBand.
And they do Accept IL medicaid/IDPA. BUT BUT BIIIIIG BUT??? They have a waiting list up to July of 2009 
! I got a packet of info & papers to fill out and send in today.I talked to the lady at weight management & she said to hurry & get them back in because they get packets back everyday & the list will be getting longer.So I`m going to get this done so I can at least be on the list,& in the meantime I will keep looking.And if I don`t find anyone else I`ll at least have time to get more required things done,so when I do start with them everything will go pretty fast.But I`m hoping to find someone else or place because I REALLY don`t want to wait TWO YEARS!!
.I still have to check out the Universities in Chicago.Those are on my list to do next.Oh.And Dr.Shayani IS NOT accepting medicaid.Found that out today too.

I hope this can be of help to you Kim...I was due to have my surgery with Dr. Joseph Vitello on September 12th and as of right now I can't have mine done... anyway you will have to call and leave your name and number on his answering machine and Dr. Vitello himself will be the one to call you back and set up a date for consultation...anyway his number is 312-996-2037 and it will most likely come unavailable on your caller id so be sure to answer all of your calls...it took him 3 days to call me back and I had my consultation not too long after speaking with him...if you should decide to call him be sure to keep me posted as to what's going on...and I guarantee you with him there will NOT be a 2 year wait...it may be a 2-3 month wait but it sure won't be 2 years!!!!!
