Anyone self pay?

Hi all, I am a new member. I want to hear your experiences with self paying for the lap band. Where did you have your surgery, cost, any other info that would be useful....   Thanks!

Hi sspann - Welcome to OH and the IL board.  Congratulations on taking the first steps to a healthier  you.  Deelight152 was a selfpay and lapband patient.  She may be able to answer some of your questions.  If I recall, she used carecredit for her financing.  Shoot her a pm, and I'm sure you will get a reply.   I may have given you incorrect info.. I was self pay but it was for rny. My surgeon does them all. I was on medicaid so I only had to pay for his fees. I used care credit. dee

Hey Sarah!  I was self-pay.  I know i said my doctor was with your doctor but he started off in Jacksonville so im sure things are little different in Clinton.  Because i was self-pay the hospital actually gave me a discount.  I think in total i paid around $18,000 maybe less maybe more.  I have all the details at home in a binder that i kept.  After that i had a year free of fills and i think they do that in Clinton.  If you have any other questions feel free to e-mail me and we can chat about it.  By the way do you have a myspace page?

Thanks everyone for all the info!  I have decided to go Dr. Pedro Kuri in Mexico for $7,500! (Plus airfare which is $600)  That is half the cost of the surgeon I was scheduled with in Clinton. Kate-no I don't have a my space page but I will update my profile here tonight while I am at work. :) 

Something you may want to think about if you have not already....  Who is going to do your fills?   Do you have a doctor that is willing to take on another ones patient?  Just a thought.
