Rumor:Dr.Shayani back with Medicaid

Ok.My husbands Aunt Billie Jo had her Lap done by Dr.Shayani 4-5 years ago.His Aunt Sonya called him earlier to tell him that Billie Jo got a letter from him saying he has left Loyola and has his own buisness now so he can start accepting medicaid again.She gave him the number to Shayani`s new office to give to me.Since I was going with him before,when he had to stop taking medicaid I`ll be able to go back with him.He may except all the clearance tests I had done even tho they started expiring from May to August this year because he was the one that ordered them.SOOOOOO,I may get to have surgery A LOT sooner than I thought! PLUS,my mom has pretty much jumped back on the WLS wagon with me again.So I`m going to call Dr.Shayani`s office first thing Monday morning to see what I can find out.If anyone on here know`s anymore about this please answer this post. I`m more excited than a tornado in a trailer park Have a great evening everyone Kim

She wanted us to do this together when I first started researching in 2005.But she got scared and I think My step dad had a hand in talking her out of it.She told me tonight that she wanted to again but not to worry about her,if I could continue with Dr.Shayani to go ahead.I told her I would talk to Shayani and we`d work it where she could catch up to me then we could do our appt`s.and everything together from there.She`s going thru a rough time right now with some family problems.And I tell ya,when she hurts I hurt like h-ll.It breaks my heart to see her hurting.And I`m hoping that I can keep her mind off her problems and keep her busy with this.And maybe give her some hope for her weight loss as well.I love my mom so much at times it hurts.She`s never been on a train before and has always wanted to so if we get with Dr.Shayani we will have to take Amtrack to get there from here.Now I`m excited for both of us.I`ll be bouncing off the walls here before Monday gets here so I can Call his office.

well I sure hope it all works out  for you and your mom!   Do you have to do all the nut appointments and Dr. supervised diet ....you know all that long and drawn out stuff?    if you can get  this Doctor how long do you think it will be?      What kind of surgery will you be doing?  lap rny?   lapband? I`m not sure what he will want me to do now if he takes me back as his patient.He gave me a list of 12 clearance tests when I was with him before.I was going to have the lapband done.I got half way thru the tests when he had to stop taking medicaid.It had something to do with Loyola.I never could get a strait answer form anyone about it.I finished the clearance tests and was cleared with all of them.So now I have to call his new office and find out if I can go back with him and what I need to do next.But I`ll want to get my mom up to this point before I go any further because I want us to be at the same place with this all the way thru.I told him before that all I`d been theu with the weight loss attempts were Slim fast,dexitrim,Richard Simmons plans,And other stuff like that.But after my consult he gave me the list of tests and said he`d do the surgery.Since Sept.or Oct.of last year I`ve been on Adepex thru my pcp.I`ve went from 337 down to 303 since then.That`s it.One place I talked to would not accept that as a documented weight loss attempt but I`d have to search and find what place it was.So he may accept it.He seems a little more leanient than some others.As how long it would be I`m not sure because as long as I can keep my mom interested in this,I want to get her caught up with me before Ican go any further.And I`ve 90% decided to have the RNY instead of the lapband.My mom however,was absolutely against the bypass before so I don`t know if she will change her mind about it or not.I`ve heard of different terms for each of these procedures.Is lap rny the same as Roux-en-Y gastric bypass?Well I have to get to bed before I fall out of my chair herelol.sleep tight everyone Goodnight Kim

Update:Someone told me to call Dr.Shayani`s office today that he might be in,so I called.There were two numbers given to me.He wasn`t in but I did get some info that I am posting on here now for anyone who wants the info... When I called this number this is how the machine answered as.
