Lap band removed

Is there anyone out there who had to have a band removed because of a stomach prolapse and adhesions? Happened to me after 2 years and 12 days of having the band. I am really struggling with my "loss."

Wow.. I'm sorry to hear about your troubles.  I don't know what I would do in your situation.  I had RNY but just wanted to give you a BIG HUG.  So, now what do you do? Hang in there.  You may want to post this also on the lap band forum.  Maybe someone on there has experienced what you're going thru. Christina

OMG i am sooo sorry.  I have never heard of that before.  I have heard about it because its gets rejected but that is soo rare.  How did they find out that was the problem?  Where you having pain?  Im coming up on my 2 years that makes me kinda nervous.  Again i am really sorry.  I cant even imagine what i would do.

Thanks. I had the flu last fall and I think my problem started then. In May I developed severe pain and went to see the surgeon. He immediately removed my fill and took a stomach xray which showed the prolapse. I was immediately admitted to the hospital and 3 days later had the removal. I think what happened is rare, but it really sucks. I want it back.

there is a gal who posts at wls forums and quixotic who had to have her band removed. do you ever go to wls forums i think that is where she is more often and i think there are more band people there. i'm so sorry you've been through all of this.  judi j

I'm pretty new to the forums and I am awaiting my surgery date for lap band.  I am on the lap band forums a lot and I there are a few  people there who have had their bands removed too.  This all makes me so nervous!
