Lapband with Medicaid

Has anyone in the Chicago area had the lapband or any other wls provided with a medical card? I'm currently in search of a Dr. that will accept Medicaid. How do I get help?

Belinda, I was looking into RNY with Dr. Vivek Prachand, he does the Lapband and he does take IDPA, medicaid. You have to register online @ ucc.remedymd.com. They ask for a credit card to bill $125 but they will not bill until after the surgery. With the registration you complete a medical information questionaire. It is 7-8 months for a consult, if I remember correctly. He is @ the University of Chicago Center for Surgical Treatment of Obesity. There aren't any other doctor's I am aware of, I wasn't looking for lapband though. Good Luck!! Yvonne
