Burning Sensation

I had open RNY June 6, 2005 at Temple Bariatric Center in PA (great hospital and doctors) I moved to Illinois in November of 2005 and had not seen a doctor here yet. (no more insurance) and finding a doctor that takes payment plans = NON EXISTANT! So, I am having a problem, for about 9 months I have had this intense burning sensation where I think my pouch is now. (below my ribs left hand side) it started out not so intense and not lasting so long, and now, doesn't matter what, when or where I eat, I have this INTENSE burning sensation, more like burning PAIN!!! It is almost like when you were a kid and someone grabbed your wrists and "indian rubbed" them (twisting back and forth)... I am not throwing up. Not over eating. In fact, doesnt matter if my tummy is empty or full. It doesn't happen every single minute of the day.. but it is getting more frequently. It kinda feels like my gallbladder did before I had emergency surgery. I put up with that pain for 4 years before anything was done (misdiagnosis on the Doctor's part when I did have insurance!) Any clues or suggestions (besides going to the doctor, I already know I SHOULD do that, just CAN"T AFFORD IT) or if anyone knows of any programs or doctors that accept a payment plan. I work full time and make pretty decent $$$, but my employer does not offer insurance (go figure)... HELP!!!!

hi Christina ... well, I was going to mention gallbladder, until I read the rest of your post. The other thing I would think is possibly an ulcer ... but I think you're going to have to bite the bullet and see a doc on it ... I wish I knew of a doc that accepted a payment plan ... hopefully someone else might be able to help there. I do know that there are finance companies that might offer you credit for medical purposes (where they pay the doc directly), but I don't know if that's just for specific procedures or what. I know capital one has a plan something like that. Good luck to you ... keep us posted. Karyn

Karyn, Thanks for your input, I am really leaning towards and ulcer as well. My poor pouch! Now I am wondering what happens to the pouch if I have an ulcer....

What about going to the e/r? They have to accept you no matter what don't they I agree, it sounds like an ulcer to me. You need to get on some meds before it eats away and does some big damage. I hope you feel better soon!!
