My insurance company says I have to see an exercise physiologist to qualify for weight loss surgery. Can I just see a physical therapist? I haven't been able to find an exercise physiologist in Illinois. And what kind of evaluation is it they are looking for?

Call your insurance company and ask them to provide you with a list of qualifed providers. That way they can't say the person you picked did not qualify. Good luck!

Ronna, Thank you for the advise. I have already called and they said they would sent it. I was just worried because my insurance is out of New York and even when I checked the OH website they listed none in Illinois. Thanks again.

I saw one in Joliet and he also has an office on I-80 and Maple in New Lenox. Do you want me to look for his name and number for you?

Nancy, Thank you. I was able to get my insurance company to send me a list of exercise physiologists in my area. I was just a little worried because when I did search for exercise physiologists on the OH website they listed none from Illinois. I should be able to get the number of the New Lenox office I have a girl friend that lives there. Hopefully he will be an my listed of approved providers from my insurance.
