**I Need a Bariatric friendly Dr (Chicagoland) / Cigna Help

Hello and Good Luck to all pre-ops, post-op and no-ops.. Can someone recommend a Dr. that will support my Bariatric desires and not lecture me, try to talk me out of it etc? Located, preferably, in the Chicagoland area. I need to switch to Cigna in a few weeks (because they cover the Lap-Band) They also require the 6 month Dr. supervised weight management program i.e. weigh-in/nutrition/exercise. If anyone has any tips on getting through that 6 month phase, please reply or email me privately.. Thanks so much!

There is the Kane Center in Arlington Heights, IL. They are surgeons that do a vast amount of bariatric surgery. My doctor recommended them. The number is 888-716-5263 (I am trying to remember the number by heart). They can get you to the right people. Good luck in your quest. I just found out I have to do the six month medically surpervised diet and am looking for a way to cut it to three months.

Dr. Gerald Cahill is in Evergreen Park at the Midwest Bariatric Institute, His number is 708-422-5658. He a wonderful doctor and his does his surgery at Little Company of Mary Hospital. Hi , Well I go to Northwestern Physicians Group, they take my Unicare HMO. I see DR Wilsnack and he is the greatest!! He tried to get me to do the surgery years ago but I wanted to try on my own. I went to the Wellness Center for over 2yrs before I made my decision to have the bypass, at that time the insurance would not cover LapBand. They have a very good,extensive program there however they don't follow up on their patients very well. So 3.5yrs later I am still good and the diabetes and high bp are gone. OMG!!! You HAVE to go to my DOC. Leslie McClellan. She is super nice and she never treis to talk you out of it and in her clinic she also has a plastic surgeon, Psychiatrist, and Nutrionist. Check her out. I also have to add that she works with another Bariatric sugeron Ladonna Bryon, all they do is this surgery. I am up in vernon hills but that is not too far. OOo one more thing they work fast with ya. I saw her in November and my surgery is January 2007.
