Dr. Prachand at Univ. of Chicago?

Anyone have surgery through him, and how did you get an appointment? I call and it's all automated saying you need to register online and that costs 125 bucks! Anyone go through this proccess?? How does it work?? TIA! Amanda

Hello where do I start? ok you have to sign up for remedy in order to get an appointment. they say you do not get charged untill you have surgery. of course when I did it they charged me. they will refund it but it was a hassel because it put me over the limit. When I went for the informational everyone there got charged as well some 2 or 3 times. hopefully that has been fixed. Then if you have reg insurance you get bumped up ahead of everyone on the waiting list and you can have surgery asap. I though have medicaid so I get to hurry up and wait. It has been 5 months so far and I am only half way up on the list. they tell you it is 4-6 months. I was with siu clinic for over 2 years so hey 6 months seems like nothing. good luck to you!!! they are great surgons and they do laporscopic.

You have to be persistent! Call at least 3 times a week, not on Wednesday because that is a clinic day when they see patients. I was originally on a waiting list in 2003 and I never heard a word. I just had surgery in June. I told them that I had been on a waiting list since my friend had surgery in Feb of '03. I called and I also prepared by getting all my blood work and sleep apnea tests done ahead of time.
