She is out of Vernon Hills and Harvard. She conducted my seminar as a replacement for Dr. LaDonna Bryan. They both are affiliated with Mercy Harvard Bariatric Clinic in Harvard. Dr. Bryan is on an indefinite leave of absence, and so Dr. McClellan jumped in. My dad's reaction to this is to be cautious, and I honestly don't know anything about her or the facility. Any tips on how to research your doctors and facilities? Everyone says, "Do your research!" But they don't say how.

Hi there! I have my initial consult with Dr. McClellan on the 29th. I googled her, I went to her practice's website whch is http://www.bariatricwellness.com, and I read some of the profiles of other patients of hers on here. Send me a private message if you want to compare notes, I do have some info I've found myself in researching that I can pass along. Have you had your initial consult with her yet?

Hello, In the beginning of the search it's all so confusing, and you just need a solid place to start. I went to the map on this site, clicked on the state of IL and started by looking at doctors that had large ammounts of testimonials as well as detailed information about the surgeon. After reading about Dr. Frantzides as well as the patient testimonials I was impressed and scheduled a consultation. The rest is history. I am now post op and doing great!! There were other doctors closer to my house but they did not have the same expertise. I'm sure you can google Dr. Frantzides as well to get additional information. Keep up the good work in searching out the best. Good luck on your journey. MK

Hi there, I am a paticent of dr. Bryan, she did my surgery on 9-7 and I totally love her. Since the unknown leave, which I have asked but no one has answered, I have been seen by Dr. McClellan and I love her just as much, in fact she is more trained and expereicned than Dr. Bryan. I love them so much and they are the best. They have never once made me feel less than a person and the list and resume is a mile long. I have no regrets and would do it all over again if I needed too. I have not had a fill yet, dr. mc said that I was losing too much weight wihtout it (too much weight, no one has ever said that to me before) but I do go back on 12-7 for my first fill, i hope) but if not, she will continue to see me month after month. On a side note, Mercy was the best hospital I have seen. Their billing was easy and the cost was right. I love them. Drop me an email if you have specific questions. Both are outstanding doctors and I would not change any of them for the world. The way I see it is that now I have to special doctors that it makes it worth it.

My husband had Dr. McClellan do his surgery 4 years ago. She is an EXCELLENT surgeon. I can not say the same about her staff at this time. He went to her when she had a staff of 2 plus herself. They were amazing. If Corinne is still working there, she is the BEST. As for the rest....I couldn't tell ya. He hasn't gone to the doctor in about 3 years. But as far as her surgical abilities.....she is one of the best. ~M

Thank you all so much for your support. I am hearing all good things about her. That website that "D. Mama" referred to at the top is excellent... I hadn't seen that, and that's exactly what I was looking for.

I'm in the same situation you were. I originally saw Dr Bryan, but was replaced by Dr McClellan. I'm three days post op and I really loved her. The staff at Mercy raved about her too. With Dr. M you are in great hands!!

Dr. McClellan did my surgery in April of this year. She also did my mother's In Febuary. I cant say enough good things about Dr. McClellan and her staff. They make you feel comfortable, she is a great surgeon, and is a brilliant woman. Everyone in the office are extremely nice. The follow up after the surgery is extremely helpful. They montior you thru the whole experience. I had my surgery at Mercy Harvard. Its a great hospital for this type of surgery. The nurses know what to do, and are very helpful. When you push the call button, its actually answered by a nurse, and quickly. It may not be as fancy as some of the other hospitals, but you cant find better care.
