anyone have Roger Maillefer, M.D.from Dekalb IL for RNY?

I notice he doesn't have that many posts, and would like to hear from anyone else that has had this surgery with him. I know that is not the only surgery he performs. I noticed that there is a surgeon that does nothing but WLS just about 30 minutes away in Belvidere, so I was thinking of jumping ship and going there instead, but haven't decided. That of course is all dependent on if and when I get insurance approval. Thanks! Nancy in Sycamore

Nancy, sorry I do not know much about your choice for a doctor. There is several bariatric surgeons in and around Winfield, Elgin, Woodstock area. Central DuPage hospital and Centegra in Woodstock have WLS docs. There is also the large group at Alexian in Elk Grove Village. That is where my husband had his WLS as did a few of my friends. I had mine with Jeff Rosen from WISH but WISH just closed. The two IL WISH docs are in the process of starting their own WLS practice but it is unkn when they are going to start doing surgery again. I go to their support group again on the 2nd if you would like me to ask when things are up and running. They were doing surgeries out of Provena in Aurora which is close to you. Chris

Hi Nancy, Look for a quality surgeon.............I you do not feel comfortable with the first surgeon you saw go back to the Illinois map and look at other surgeons and what their patients are saying about them. Good luck on your journey. MK
