Hey guys just introducing myself

I actually came here b/c my mom had gastric bypass about 4 yrs ago(and doing awesome!) and im looking at the lap band. Does anyone has any feedback about anything, as in recovery time, pain level, and so on. Anything would be appreciated! Thanks a bunch!!

I am not sure how many bansters there are on the IL board so it may be a little slow. You might want to post your question on the lapband board you may get a faster response. What part of IL are you from? Chris

Welcome to the IL board. Like Chris said this board is VERY slow these days. I know that there are some lap people out there but they do not post very often. Good luck in your discovery process. Hi Abby, and welcome! I am actually new to the board here also, as I just started posting last week. Actually I would prefer the slow board like this rather than one of the main boards. It is hard to make a connection with people. I live in Dekalb county IL, in the small town of Sycamore. I have not had my surgery yet, but my surgeon says that he has people back to work in about 3 days with lap band, and that he does it as out patient surgery. I myself struggle back and forth between RNY and lap band. I think the RNY would be in my best interest long term, but I'm scared of the risks associated with it. How did you come to your decision?
