I have a surgery date of 10/27/2006. I will be having it at Alexian Brothers Medical Center, Dr Rantis is my surgeon. Can anyone who has used this hospital, and had this surgeon tell me what their experience was like. All responses are greatly appreciated.

Congrats on your upcoming surgery. You have chosen a great doctor, he was my husband's WLS doc also. He is a very caring individual that listens to you. He has been with that practice since the mid '90s. I am going to guess that you are referring to ABMC in EGV, not St Alexius in Hoffman. If you are going to be in ICU/CCU for a couple of days PO you will find that you are going to have to ask to get out of bed and be walked or to sit up in a chair. They are so busy in that unit. You will also find that the hospital is a little noisy because it is old. It can get real warm there also. The rooms on the regular floors are real small, not much room when the curtain is pulled around the bed. Some rooms still have only one TV for a 2 patient room. I cannot think of anything else at this time. Chris
