Need Help Finding A Surgeon

I need help finding a surgeon in IL who takes Mediplan(IDPA Medicaid). I am more than 100 pounds overweight. I have a 14 yr old son who has CP and is total dependent care. I need to be around to take care of him. I haven't been able to lose this weight on my own. Any help with finding a surgeon will be greatly appreceiated.

Hi Tammie, University of Chicago takes IDPA. I believe there are 2 surgeons there that do. Dr Prachand (who i have) and Dr Alverdy. Before they will schedule a consult with you, you will have to register at remedymd.com , it is basically a totally long questionairre and a support page for before during and after. They do have a charge of ....I think it's $125 on credit card but they will not charge the card until after you actually have the surgery but no until then. I don't have a credit card myself but my parent gladly obliged for this. After you fully register you call 773-834-8900. They are very very nice people. I don't know how far away you are from there. It is on the south side of chicago but I live on the wisconsin border and it's worth the 1.45hr drive for me. Hope this will help. Jen

Thank you so much Jen. I have called so many surgeons and they tell me they don't accept new patients with IDPA from my zipcode. I hope one of the docs you mentioned does. I live in Carthage, IL. It is around 4 hrs from Chicago. Thank you so very much again!! Tammie

No problem ......There are a ton of people from all over il sooo I am sure you won't have a problem using them.
